I just hope priority 1 is to err on the side of caution with Robert moving forward. Fortunately he's a 22 year old world-class athlete with the best docs in the world at his disposal.
We wouldn't IR him until we had to. I just don't trust Robert to be truthful with the team and doctors about how he really feels, and I don't trust the team to not take Robert at his word.

I've never heard of a complete tear being 'better' than a partial tear...

Also here is a little background on the man who will be fixing RG3.

I didn't see it that way. in the philly game he ran 2 times for four yards, and it was excruciating to see his reach the sideline. in Dalllas he ran for 60 yards and while he didn't have his burst there was a better fluid motion in his run. I would even say in the first quarter against seattle there was a little improvement until he tried that pass to garcon. I don't have any clue what reasonably could have been expected, or if his progress was faster or slower than should have been expected, but he had made positive steps each week.

Why do that if he could play next season? (and be 100% healthy)

According to ESPN Chris Mortensen RGIII to have complete surgery on Wednesday and expected to be ready for season opener. Recovery time 6-8 months.

I thought i read somewhere in this thread that a complete tear of the acl was better than a partial tear as far as getting back to 100 %?
Edit: yes Skinzwin posted about the doctor on sirius radio this morning that said surgery isnt possible on the acl unless it is a complete tear? Is this good news? I cant sleep and have to know whether to up my bid on the Cousins jersey! Help! Lol
I had hand surgery yesterday and the general anasthetic has turned my sleep habit upside down. Im wide awake rite now but this latest update might make me rest easier actually.

According to the doctor on sirius if it is a partial tear than surgery is not an option? So, since it is a complete tear now they can do it all in six hours.

The MCL and LCL which are on the outside of the knee can repair themselves with therapy and treatment. That prognosis scared me. I hope it is just his LCL and not his ACL being partially torn as previously speculated.
Requoting Skinzwin here so you can read what he posted. Sounds to me like it is a good thing?

Wow. He's already shaved two to four months off the normal recovery time. Impressive.
