I dont think we'll hear anything until his surgery is done.

I have heard that it is a better situation if its only a partial tear to the acl and I've heard that's what Robert is hoping for. If you go back to the first giants game I remember being scared on a fumble and he went down awkward and his knee bent similar to the way it did Sunday but he got up and was fine. You can see the play on the highlights if that game, I'm hoping it looked worse then it is and it's just partial. fingers crossed. If not, I have tremendous faith in Robert to work hard and come back even better, he has the drive.

They had a orthopedic surgeon on Sirius XM NFL Radio this morning who said just the contrary. If it is completely torn they can do surgery to reattach the muscle to the bone. If it is a partial tear, surgery can most likely not be done and the ACL can not repair itself due to its place on the inside of the knee, basically giving you a weakened joint until you completely tear it. The MCL and LCL which are on the outside of the knee can repair themselves with therapy and treatment. That prognosis scared me. I hope it is just his LCL and not his ACL being partially torn as previously speculated.

I read the a big benefit to a partial tear is that your ACL has nerves in it, so keeping your own ACL allows you retain a sense of feeling in your knee you would otherwise lose if you had a complete tear/replacement. Kind of like how you hear about athletes who have trouble "completely trusting their knee", if you have a replacement ACL your brain doenst get any feed back. However, RGIII already had a replacement so i dont think this would matter?

Also heard, your ACL is made up of different parts (2 i think?), and if its a partial tear which is isolated you can replace just the part that was torn.
