Well Gibbs' is unique. But the key difference is there is Cerrato wasn't in charge. After Gibbs left, Snyder put Cerrato in charge of all football operations. Made it his show to run to show that he could be the guy, not the foot soldier.

But while most good managers want a strong team under them, Cerrato didn't, for fear that some would be good enough to eventually make Cerrato irrelevant.

Very stupid on Cerratos part. I dont know how he couldnt have had the foresight to realize that if he doesnt have a good coach, and strong personnel people, he wouldnt have a good team, and he'd lose his job.

Cerrato is not as dumb as people believe when it comes to straight scouting of players, but he's an extremely insecure, petty person. That's ultimately his true downfall

And, in my experience, only someone with similar traits would hire that kind of executive for a senior position. So was he (is he) a reflection of his boss?

Cerrato IMO made alot of mistakes over a decade. Alot of his quotes from that book just lead to more questions. Why do the skins always say things that just make you scratch your head? Hire a friggin lawyer and pretend that your always talking to the Cops.

Let that sink in.

Smoot...I'm not so sure about that. He really had a lot of poor draft and free agent picks here. On top of that, he was going to give the Bengals 2 1st rounders for Chad Johnson. Johnson in his prime was a very good wr. But not for that price. Mike Brown saved him from his own stupidity.

I probably didn't explain it quite right...but honestly kind of tired of talking about him
