In the draft Belichick took tavon wilson in the 2nd round, a guy whom all the other scouts and analysts had as a 6-7th rounder.

When they address need, its been a miss for them defensively. Offensively it hasn't.
They also said that about Tom Brady, Terrelle Davis, Alfred Morris, Adrian Foster, and a whole lot of others. No one now is claiming he should have gone in the 6th or 7th. He still has flaws, mainly struggling with play action and getting deep off of it, but played decent for them this year. He still has plenty of upside to continue to progress, and has the ability to play almost every secondary position.

It might be comparing apples to oranges since they play different positions. But do you want Bobbie Massie in the first, as analysts had him for the draft, or Tavon Wilson in the second? Massie was terrible this year, and had trouble getting a starting job in Arizona with their horrible O-line.

Listening to draft analysts is about as good at times as listening to Vinny act like he understands the draft.

Probably because he can't play.

Cant be it, Belichick just doesnt make mistakes. Remember T Brady was a 6th round pick.

Those guys were drafted late, like Tavon Wilson should have been.

And Massie or wilson? Neither, cause they are both busts IMO.

There was an analyst one time that said the same thing about Tom Brady, he should have been drafted late or not at all. Had anyone picked up Brady in round 2, they would have been criticized beyond belief. But it still would have been a good move to do so.

My point being, you are basing the move not based on Tavon Wilson's play, but what the draft analysts said prior to him ever playing a down in the NFL. The same ones who said Tom Brady doesnt deserve to be in the NFL. He actually played fairly well this year for a rookie on a defense that wasnt that good altogether, and is a highly versatile player to boot. Im not saying he is the next Ronnie Lott, but he outplayed our entire secondary when he was on the field.

Re: 2013 Free Agents

I'm happy with the Brace signing. We could use a blob as competition for the NT spot.

We won more with Vinny

I agree. Looks like he is "just a guy", but sometimes change of scenery helps, and some NE fans seemed to think he was finally getting it before he got hurt. Extra bodies in the middle of the line are a must for the grind of the preseason, and while I like Neild, if Brace steps up, that is only good for the team.

Yup. And if Brace doesn't step up and gets cut, no big deal.

Besides, Brace a big blob! Just what you want in a NT.

I heard ( radio ) , that NE drafted Brace as a NT , but now play more 4-3 and Brace is not a DE or DT ? If Brace can give us 15 - 20 snaps / game , it would be a nice signing .

Ahh ok, I see what you're saying now. Time will tell.
