Skins are just waiting for the CB market to cool off, gain some leverage, and then go after some guys. They'll clear up room as needed as they go. No sense in opening up $5M in space now and lose some leverage in the process. They can play the woe is us we have no cap room to their advantage.

Well said. We have real Football People in are FO now.

Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013

all the TE equivalents of davis are gone. there's him and keller left, and davis is the better option. our offense isn't as good without him (assuming his injury is fully healed by sept).

it looks like davis and a CB is what we need before the draft. i'd love to grab a safety (and vollmer at RT) too, but i don't think we'll get that far.

philly added kenny phillips and connor barwin today. that sucks. decent players at low cost.

Its really hard to gauge Freddy's value right now. Despite his talents, he wasn't really being utilized early last year before the injury. Add in the Ganja suspension and the bum Achilles, and you have to wonder how indespinsible he is to the Skins...

He's not exactly indispensable because of the good class of TE's in the draft, but still fairly important. I've always thought a good tight end is part of that championship formula.

If Talib was so great why did Tampa let him go for nothing?

Technically Peyton Manning was let go by the Colts for nothing too. I wouldn't judge a player's talent by how the team or coach treats that player. There can be other reasons that a player is cut.

I so hate when people ask this question. The coaches that were there when Talib was drafted were not the same that let him go.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013

we need to use the draft to get DBs and maybe an OT. i think picking a TE there is probably not best use if we can get davis back somewhat cheaply. he's not exactly in line for a monster payday right now.

Looks like the Pats are gonna be running a lot of 3TE sets.

Oh don't worry you'll get your wish. Unless your going for reverse psychology here.

I'm not particularly excited about the idea, but if Raheem Morris, Haslett, Shanahan and Allen are all on board, i'll defer to their judgement. Has and Morris wouldnt consider bringing anyone in with a checkered past unless they were confident he'd work in their system. I we were to make a "big" move, i'd want it to be for Winston. Hes turning 30 this year, but he seems like a perfect fit for our scheme.
