Could Talib be Shanahan's Washington version of Maurice Clarett in Denver? I hope not.

I'm hearing TE Fred Davis not coming to #Browns anytime soon.

Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013

Twitter keeps blowing up w/ skins fans saying we're getting Davis back AND Talib. I'd be very surprised.

But I would honestly prefer that we hadn't signed Pashos, Trueblood, Golston, (Talib) and had just spent that money on Eric Winston so we could end the whole "Who's going to be our RT to protect RG3" talk.

The X factor in a Talib signing and on/off field performance is our HC. Love him or hate him players tend to shape up and perform for Mike or they get the axe, similar to what you see with Belichick. My thing is, why doesn't Belichick want Talib anymore? They've got cap room to spare, yes? What's the story there?

Who says Belichick doesnt want him? BB has different negotiating tactics than most people. He has Tom Brady, he will pay whatever it takes for that. The rest of them, hes expecting a discount in exchange for a possible SB trip each year.

He said goodbye to Welker and grabbed Amendola on what seemed to be negotiating principle alone. Not only did he offer Amendola more money per year, he already had the deal negotiated prior to his latest contract offer to Welker. I assume Welker/Amendola was a "shot across the bow" to his own players not named Tom Brady to take what he offers or play elsewhere.

I understand the age difference between the two. But there is also the continuity and injury difference between the two. If he was that worried about age, BB could have found another Amendola in the next couple of years. So dropping Welker now when he would accept a two year deal was about something else than Welkers money.

Belichick never likes players who negotiate with other teams. Wouldn't be surprised IF skins sign Talib it's because Belichick get impatient & walks away from the table to persue another DB.

@AdamSchefter ... When all is said and done, whenever that is, I believe he (Talib) returns to New England.

Any cornerback Belichick does not want, is one I would go for. Man cannot scout a corner to save his life.

Have no idea what this means?

Asante Samuel might disagree with you on the 2nd point...

Asante Samuel wasn't good. He was another clone of D. Hall that loved to jump routes. Ask most of the Philly fans about him, and look how that Falcons secondary got torched.

He's better at it than Hall. I've seen him seal many games, and notice the falcons held on to him and released the other 2 starters grimes and Robinson

Saying he's better than Hall isn't saying much. Hall is one of the worst rated CBs in the league.

Also, they haven't released Grimes as he's a UFA. Grimes was their Franchise tagged player last year and commanded a 10+ million salary. He's very much on their radar.

No deal between Brent Grimes, Falcons | ProFootballTalk

Robinson? He was cut purely for money.

Robinson turns 31 in April and was entering the back-end of his contract, which had three seasons and $29.5 million remaining, including an $8 million base salary and $9 million cap number in 2013.

Considering Asante had the cheaper contract, it's not hard to see why they cut him over AS. You cut a player with a 8 million salary or a 3 million?

Even last year, DR had a much higher salary cap and it wasn't going to get any better this season.
