Pats resigned him for 5mil, sounds like we had a multi-year deal offered to him, but it wasn't what he was looking for. At 5mil for next year I'd pass anyways.

I'm I crazy or are the chances of resigning DHall getting more realistic by the minute?

Redskins should have all the bargaining chips now with hall because it seems no one else is interested. I'm sure they are considering bringing him back because now his value might actually be close to his pay.

His pay will be equal to his play. Some people were speculating he would get a couple of million a year? Let's be realistic no one is knocking on his door. Give me Winfield instead.

Why not both? One year deals for each or two years to stretch the cap hit.

But... but... I thought Hall would command $5M/year?

Honestly, I don't expect him back. Not sure we can really afford anyone this year. If Merriweather comes back and plays well, that would huge.

Merriweather played pretty well in the short time he wasn't hurt. If he can fight off the injury bug, I think he will be a serviceable stop gap.

What was Merriweather's injury history before last year's string of bad luck?

Remember he only played half a game. We thought Gomes was going to be all pro after the New Orleans game.

I don't remember anyone claiming Gomes was going to be all-pro. That's like saying people thought Barnes was going to be all-pro. Gomes is just a typical backup, worth holding onto for depth. Anyone who thought he was going to be more than that was seriously grasping at straws.

I thought he played more than that. Well, here's hoping for upside...

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013

Judging by the looks of this, we know who was at fault in the Dumervil blunder.

Y! SPORTS

"It's terrible, but he said he knows what happened and why it happened," said Magid, who received hundreds of emails from angry Broncos fans. "I know the people in Denver think I should be fired, but like I said [Friday], there were a lot of reasons for why it happened."

Yeah, we know why it happened too. You were a blundering idiot and thought you would con the Broncos into that 12 million or have him become a FA and get boat loads of money. Neither one came to fruition, hence why you are fired. Make no mistake about it, Dumervil is also a huge reason for this fiasco. He's one the declined the offer up until the last minute.

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013

Don't know if mentioned in this thread but Chase Daniel GOT PAID...by Andy Reid!

What are they thinking?

Guess 10 million/3 years is the going rate for an undersized preseason superstar.
