Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013

Well, I think it's best man win between Compton Pashos and Trueblood, my money is on Compton. CB/S is where the cap hit has hurt us the past two years, and I doubt there is much more planned except to see what shakes out of the tree as draft picks and 1st ballot FA's(guys signed the first week of FA) are signed. So we will either go with youth, or 2nd tier in those areas. It's either a blessing that there is seemingly a lot of quality out there both in FA and the draft, or if we can't get any, a curse because next years group may not have the same overall talent level.

My money is on Pashos. When healthy in 2011, he was the 6th best OT in terms of PBE. Trent was 19th last year.. So yeah high praise for Tony.

Anyways again how does a CB depth chart of, Wilson, Crawford, Murphy suffice? Quarterbacks will have us highlighted in 6 different colors on their schedules. We'll get shredded.

Well yes, but that's why we're paying him probably something around 900k-1 million and not 6+ million.

Good risk.

That's not a big deal. Incisions always look bad like that. I've had both of my feet completely reconstructed (16 screws, 7 pins sticking out, 3 big incisions on the tops of each foot, all 5 metatarsals cut and screwed back together, joints removed and fused...I'm fine. I can do anything and more than I did before it. Pashos has the best rehab docs in the world compared to me having to learn how to walk on my own.

What kind of surgery did he have? It's really not bad. The bruising is normal. The discoloration is from tape and he obviously just had it unwrapped by the extra texture on his skin. The incision is really straight and well done.

That's nothing...really. Post-op pics are always worse-looking then they really are.

Cool picture actually. If we had a player surgery photo thread, I'd love it. That's not scary at all. When you look down and it's your own foot...sure, that might make you a little lightheaded, but photos are nothing.

Well, you also have Minnefield, 1-2 rookies, and a 2nd tier FA. We certainly aren't going to have a defensive backfield that scares qb's, so it will be another season of shoot out games most likely. I expect it's going to be a good thing our offense likely will be scoring 27-33 points per game.

Counting on Minnifield.. That's what it's come down to I guess.

You're right and the truth is I trust our front office to pluck a couple more Richard Crawford's in the draft, but we're playing with fire if these draft picks don't work out.

I haven't even mentioned safety.

That's the safest way to go.

The FO is definately not coutning on Minnefield. A guy coming off 2 ACLs and micro fracture surgery has a lonnnnggg way to get back, and most likely will never be the same. (the micro fracture surgery being one of the biggest detriments to his career)

I posted last night, that when you have a defense ranked so poorly against the pass that we were able to keep who we could afford and filling out the rest with draft picks (remember this draft is deep at CB, S, and T). The thinking being we were 31st aginst the pass last year, we liked what we have we the rest of the team so they are priority number one. We (the FO) will fill out the defensive backfield with rookies and a 2nd tier FA here and there, and we honestly can't be much worse.

You are right I mean Alfmo had nothing to do with our success last year.

No actually that's not what I said, because that would be foolish.
