Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
Kind of sort of off topic but did not want to start a new thread for one question...
How come we have not received any compensatory picks for our lost free agents? 1. Carlos Rogers 2. L. Alexander 3. Laron Landry How does the compensation work? Do the Skins have to show interest first or an attempt to resign? I do not think that we have received any comp picks in while, am I wrong? |

Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
You are right in the interest and availability to sign players being equal to picks. LL and CR were signed to 1yr prove it deals and we were prepared to see them walk.
I do not know if we would get a pick for LA simply based on the fact that we signed him to a UDFA contract initially and did not draft him. I do not know if the rule still applies to players you develope and lose even though they were not drafted. If we had drafted LA his situation would be one that would garner a compensatory pick.

I did forget about the adding players of value though. That's why when we lost LL we didn't get one because of PG signing. The year we let CR walk we signed Bowen, Cofield, Wilson, and OJ A.
