Well we're obviously in no rush to sign him and he doesn't seem in a rush to sign with us. It's looking like stalemate so far. I wasn't too fond of his, I'm gonna ball with whatever team wants a TE, blurb.

Why would we be in a rush? Until this week, no one else has shown any serious interest in him. The Bills are serious. I imagine the Skins will see what the Bills offer and then decide if its worth matching. The last thing we can afford to do is overpay for a TE coming of a major injury who has tons of minor run-ins with the law and is one joint away from a year long suspension. The only thing Davis deserves is a 1 year "prove it" deal. If the Rosenhaus can convince the Bills to offer more than that, then theyre very very stupid.

Outside of Paulsen we're looking thin at TE, unless they're looking to draft one. And no one tell me Paul is a serviceable TE. That man is just a warm body.

Okay, he's good at ST, but whatever.

didn't Hall have a go at FS last year and it was a fail? I swear for a couple plays here and there.

I'd look at K. Winslow as a backup if Davis isn't wanting to come back.

Wouldn't it be fair to say that our lack of good safety play for the past few years has exposed Hall's weaknesses? I feel like a corner can only gamble effectively if he has help behind him.

For example, if Hall played with Sean Taylor (or Ed Reed) behind him, perhaps he would be more who he thinks he is.

I said that all of last season. When Hall is getting beat...really, how many of these would be TDs with ANY capable safety help behind him?

We were playing guys like Pugh and Bernstein by the end of the year...who would be practice squad guys on most teams. Madieu Williams was toasted far more than anyone on the team.

If Meriweather and Jackson were starting all season, we might have been fine, but when our projected starters were basically on the shelf for every single game of the year...the talent level is very low. Williams, Gomes and Doughty were starters most of the season...that's not good.

Imagine this scenario in another position...at WR it would be like playing without Garcon and Moss all year...starting Morgan and who..Hankerson/Banks/Robinson all year. What if our best two CBs were out...Hall and Wilson...we would have been starting Cedric Griffin and who, Crawford all year?

No position can survive when your top two starters never see the field. unfortunately, when it happens at the safety position, it's going to be exploited for a lot of big TDs by opponents and it hurts the entire defense.

I've maintained that if we sure up the safety position with REAL talent, not band-aids, Hall and Wilson would be a great CB tandem. Wilson and Antoine Winfield could look great with good safeties behind them.

I hope we use our first couple of draft picks on safeties. That's the most urgent need on the team.

If by some miracle we can grab Matt Elam or Phillip Thomas in the 2nd...huge.

I hope Tyronn Matthieu is there for us in Round 4. If we could get him and D.J. Swearinger in the 3rd...great draft.

My dream draft, get two of those four guys...sign Winfield AND Hall...to move Hall to FS or keep for nickel duty. We can't count on Meriweather being on the field but if he is...HUGE bonus.

Play the better of the two rookies in camp at SS, Hall at FS. if Meriweather is healthy, start him and use Hall as the 3rd CB.

Suddenly, the secondary is solid.

I agree 100% with the exception of playing Hall at FS. He doesnt seem to have that mentality to play there and with a competent FS he is a good corner which is where he belongs.

I would love that draft.

ST could make any corner look like an all pro.
