Play off team yes, but even Gibbs had a bad year in between his two playoff runs. This was a tall order to ask of any new head coach. Then throw in the fact that he has never been an NFL coordinator let alone a coach. Then hand him the team and say see what you can do a long with a new scheme (WCO). Plus it wasn't like he was hired in Jan or Feb. it was like what March or April right before the draft. He had to review film to see what he had then decide what he needed in the draft to only get to pick best player available instead by positional need. Then come up with a playbook, training schedule, preseason schedule, teach a QB how to be a QB, teach a whole team his WCO scoring machine we were promised, and play call for games. Even Gibbs looked bad his first year. Lost what the first 5 games ended up 8-8. Then progressivly got better.

I say we need to give Zorn time. He needs to get "his" type of players he needs to run his offense. The best part about Gibbs was he came here and realized that the players didn't fit his system so he changed his system halfway through the year which many people accredited him for developing. There was the WCO and Gibbs offense. The trees split off from there. Now the problem I see with Zorn is he has not adapted to his players. He wants them to adapt to his system and we don't have the right players in the system. WCO needs tall WR's we don't have them developed to run this system. It needs more of a run blocking TE and Cooley is more of a passing TE due to size. I've heard mention that the whole O-line is not typical of a WCO. He should get one more year to try to empliment his offense but I will add that I don't know if he will get it. If Snyder learns that Cowher is wanting back in coaching and still has a hard on for the man then Zorn is gone.

It is completely understandable that Jim Zorn is a rookie head coach/coordinator and needs time, but it's a bad experiment with the wrong team. People keep saying its the personnel problems but this very same team was good enough to go to the playoffs last year and go 6-2 earlier this year against very good teams. NOW...I'm a die hard Redskins fan and the one thing I'm starting to notice is I'm able to predict the plays we call before we hike the ball. It's just that predictable. YES Campbell played well earlier and YES he has improved from last year, but much of that success is from a new system and a QB with limited knowledge of it. Defenses have figured us out. Our Offensive Line is not fully responsible for the protection problems either as we now have so many protection schemes and no one is fully getting it. The Offense is so complexed that its even slowing the progress of rookies like Devin Thomas and Fred Davis because they're confused. Not just them but Veterans too. It all falls down to Zorn for most of the blame. This Redskins Team right now is very good in personnel but we need the right Offensive Coordinator and scheme and Zorn just isn't it. Last year our offense was making progress under Al Saunders from what control of the offense he did have with Gibbs and it makes no sense why we got rid of him. We played well with the lil we had and not to mention the O-Line injuries. We would have excell with the new rookies this year. Every loved the WCO first because it spreads the offense and gives Campbell more options but what people failed to realize is that is also brings a lot more responsibility to everyone, and now its getting to all the players as you can see. Zorn may be a good coach but just not now and not with us...I hope he does get Fired...even at 6-2 i knew we would really struggle soon

If it is understandable that a Rookie HC would struggle, then why would you hope he does get fired? Unless you want to go through a new coach every year??

If the Skins fire Zorn after 1 year only an idiot or someone totally desperate would want to coach in this disfunctional organization. Oh yea, I almost forgot, someone who wants a big paycheck since paying people is what this organization does best.

I would be more surprised if the Redskins win another the game than I would be if Zorn gets fired. Of course, it should be obvious now that Cerratto is the one who should be fired.

If the Redskins win even one more game they will be 8-8. It is just unbelievable that ppl believe that Snyder would fire a coach if he has an 8-8 season as a rookie coach.

Snyder only let go of General Schottenheimer because he wouldn't share the personnel decision duties with a GM. He had a 8-8 first season.

Snyder was going to give Spurrier a third season even though the team was in super-meltdown mode and a 5 win season.

Snyder would have given Gibbs a fourth or fifth season - Gibbs had a five win first season.

So why would Snyder dump Zorn after his rookie season? Vinny is the GM and many of the coaching staff were forced on Zorn.

Don't understand the logic people are using to say Zorn will be dumped when Dannny snyder has shown he is more loyal to coaches in the last 6 years.

Unless the Redskins hire someone who would retain Zorn's offense changing coaches would only hurt Jason Campbell. There's only so much a guy can be expected to absorb

Russ Grimm - Makes a lot of sense. He wouldn't be scared to stand up to Snyder, he'd focus on the draft, he'd not only build the lines but help make the current group better, he's loved in the area. On top of that he might even be inclined to implement a 3-4 defense especially considering the fact that he worked under Cowher. Personally Grimm might be the next best thing. Of course my only concern is he wouldn't be as likely to destroy the front office structure as Cowher would.

Steve Spagnola - Smart man, had the foresight to recognize the teams current structure as a career killer.

Jim Swartz - If not Cowher or Grimm then this guy should be the man, assuming he interviewed as well as he did. Also assuming he doesn't end up like Gregg Williams when he became head coach.

Josh McDaniels - Overrated

Jason Garret - Do I even need to explain.

Pete Carroll - Ra ra college coach. No thanks

Marty - That bridge was burned, nuked and then thrown into a black hole.

Rex Ryan - Like the defense but not to crazy about taking another Ravens DC and making him a head coach.

Mike Muklarkey - No thanks, especially considering his distaste for Tight Ends.

Kirk Ferentz - College coach, no thanks

Jim Harbaugh - Interesting but I'd lean towards no.

Mike Leach - Spurrier 2.0

Jim Fassel - Well that bridge is only partially burned.

However in my mind Cowher at this point makes to much sense.
- He'll blow up the front office structure that is obcessed with finding recievers.

- He'll rebuild the lines and on top of that he'll use the draft.

- He'll impliment a 3-4 defense that should instantlly bolster our pash rushing woes.

- He'll build a team suited for playing in the NFC East.

- He might even be able to salvage the career of Jason Campbell but if not he won't be scared to bench him.

Cowher 2009. FTW. And yes count me as an official bandwagon jumper.
