He has taken too many hits.

He looked great a few years ago....now not so much.

McNabb IS NOT on the downside of his career. Jake Delhomme is on the downside of his career. Philly just needs to shore up their line. Macklin and Jackson are still very young wr's. Plus you add in a young Celek who is coming on...and a good young runner. They're going to be very good on offense next year. Count on it.

He turns 34 this year. Even if he's still putting up solid numbers, he's on the downside age-wise for sure. Come on. This year will be his 12th season.

QB's aren't RB's and they can play for a long time. If he keeps himself in shape he can play til he's 40. That's 6 more years. Warner, Farve, Kerry Collins, Vinny Testaverde are examples. Jeff Garcia could probably be someones back up. It depends on the individual. If I was Arizona I'd give up a 1st rounder for McNabb.

See but a QB like McNabb needs to land in the right place. You're right, if I was Arizona, I would trade my #1 in a heartbeat for McNabb. Off the top of my head, they are one of the few teams drafting late in the first round that has a bit of a QB situation. Arizona had the adequate offensive line to protect him (since he is no spring chicken), with him they'd be a contender, and they have the offensive weapons (Fitz and the WR group, a young Beanie Wells, etc., etc.)

That's a great call Ruhskins. I couldn't think a better fit for DMc, or Vikings if Favre finally throws in the towel.

Yes!!...The way Arizona's team is currently constructed he would be a much better fit there than in St Louis. Arizona is equiped to win now, you would think that's the type situation Donovan would be looking for at this point in his career. There is no "getting better" for McNabb, what you see is what you get, he's undoubtably already played as well as he's ever going to play.

Well, all the guys you mentioned began running into health issues late in their careers. McNabb hasn't been the most durable player during his 11+ seasons in the league. So even if he's lucky enough to play 6 more seasons (which I think is a stretch), it's generous to say at this point he's entered the last third of his career. AKA the downside.

I think the Eagles are still waiting for a 1st round offer to come their way for McNabb

Devaney on Philly trade rumors: “Absolutely false.”
By Jim Thomas
St. Louis Post-Dispatch

ORLANDO, Fla. _ St. Louis Rams general manager Billy Devaney said reports Wednesday by the Philadelphia media that St. Louis was offering its second-round pick and safety Oshiomogho Atogwe for Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb: “Absolutely false.”

Devaney added: “It’s utterly ridiculous. I haven’t talked to Philadelphia about any of their players.”

Another Rams source said of the Eagles, “They may have a trade offer, but not from us. Why would we trade for McNabb and then go watch Bradford throw on Monday?”

Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford, whom the Rams are considering with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, has his pro day on Monday.

Atogwe currently cannot be traded since he’s not under contract. He was given the lowest possible tender as a restricted free agent, but has not signed that tender.

Rams coach says "nothing to" reported interest in McNabb

By Alvin Reid
Originally published March 25, 2010 at 11:54 a.m., updated March 25, 2010 at 11:54 a.m.

JUPITER, Fla. - Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo took a break from watching the Cardinals prepare for Thursday’s game against the New York Mets to comment on trade rumors involving Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb coming to St. Louis.
“There’s nothing to that,” Spagnuolo said. “We’re not involved in that. At this time of year, there are going to be all kind of things thrown out there. But no, there’s nothing to it.”
The Philadelphia Inquirer website reported Wednesday that the Rams were talking with the Eagles about sending defensive back Oshiomogho Atogwe and a draft choice to Philadelphia for McNabb.
“We’re a month away from the draft, there will probably be all kinds of things like that,” Spagnuolo said. “It’s hard to decipher which ones are true and which ones aren’t but that’s just the nature of the game. That’s just what happens this time of year.”
Spagnuolo drove over from the Owner’s meetings in Orlando to watch the Cardinals-Mets game on Thursday, the second straight year he has made an appearance in Jupiter.
“I love to come down and watch Tony La Russa,” the second-year coach said. “Winning in any sport is difficult, and he has won so many games.
“When you win as many games as he has, you can certainly learn something from him. And I love that he is willing to share (his knowledge).”
Spagnuolo also commented new overtime rule for the NFL playoffs that will give both teams an opportunity with the football, saying he liked the rule.
“It’s hard to get (overtime rules) perfect, but it’s better,” Spagnuolo said. “The league is always trying to get better.”
Spagnuolo confirmed that he will be among the Ram’s group who will watch quarterback Sam Bradford throw on Monday but said the Rams have not determined who they will select with the first pick in the draft.
“It’s still too early,” he said.

Donovan McNabb

49ers or Raiders?

Bills and Cards also possible?

Also:

Sam Bradford

Quote:
The Rams have begun preliminary contract negotiations with the player reps for QB Sam Bradford and DTs Ndamukong Suh and Gerald McCoy.
They've even touched base with QB Jimmy Clausen. "We're really just comparing notes," said executive VP of football operations Kevin Demoff, who added that he will begin "trading" numbers with agents in early April. If the ownership uncertainty doesn't preclude the Rams from selecting Bradford, they're still unlikely to get into hard numbers until after his March 29 pro day and April 12 team visit.

The Eagles can't realistically keep McNabb, Kolb, and Vick can they?

They should dump Vick. Somebody would probably take him for a 5th or 6th. Cut and run with him.

I have to think they are keeping him. They recently paid him a relatively large bonus.
