The offense was worse. Turnovers, three and outs, zero ability in the passing game. Just ugly. We ran the ball better than in the past, which is a lone positive. If you can't pass, you can't win, and we can't pass right now (last week's dominance of a poor Texans defense aside).
I agree. Lost in all the bashing of the defense is the fact our offense didn't do squat either. Horrible on 3rd downs, turnovers, penalties, settling for FGs in the red zone, piss poor.

The defense is suppose to be the strength of the team though. We already know the offense is below average. This has been a top ten defense with many of the same guys. So how do we go from top ten to dead last?

It's silly to say "dead last" as if yardage totals after two games actually indicate anything. The results on defense have been sub par to this point. No one actually believes we have the worst defense in the NFL. The last time the defense was a team strength was 2007. That's an eternity ago.

All the mistakes our defense is making this year we made last year in spades.

Well people may not believe it but all I care about is what I see. And this defense was not nearly this bad last year or the year before. The last two weeks have been horrible.

Regardless that doesn't give the offense a pass. 16 points isn't exactly setting the world on fire.

We need to improve in every phase of the game right now. The D is the most obvious, but the offense and special teams need a lot of work too.

Touchdown scored on a drive that started at the 21 yard line of the opponent.

We started two drives that deep in opponent territory all of last year (both in the Panthers game). We've already matched that this season. The offense, to date, has been worse than last year. I've been impressed with McNabb and Williams, and Portis' blocking. Disappointed with everyone else.

Can't see how Casey Rabach starts next week. Even cats only have 9 lives.

I just expect less from the offense cause we've only got one legit NFL wr. These guys that they brought in were on the street for a reason. Galloway, Armstrong and Williams would not make 90% of the teams in the league. Thomas and Davis need to be on the field all the time. Not journeymen WR's.

First of all, most of you sound like a bunch of impulsive women. Man up and have some patience.

Second of all, it's clear that some of you don't know jack about 3-4 defense, yet you're calling for Haslett to be fired.

Lastly, people can learn new things, but you have to be willing to give them time and suffer through mistakes. Mistakes are a part of learning.

This is how PROGRESS is made. I'm not saying we'll be better at the end, but we've got to find out. Progress isn't easy. Don't panic and start whining at the first sign of adversity. Be strong and weather the storm in hopes that we'll be better in the end.

So funny, this all sounds like the same old song we were singing late last year, the year before, so forth and so on. Disgruntled with the coaching staff, perplexed with the scheme. Not happy campers.

And what's so funny about that is we're only one or two improbable wins away from moving out of the "we officially suck" line. We will "suck"- STS - everytime we lose, regardless of how we lose or who we lose too. When we win we're on the right track, Shanahan and Allen will be walking on water again. All will be fine until the next loss, then the cycle repeats itself all over again.

I have a difficult time trying to understand how people can turn on a dime that way. You're only as good as your last play with some fans, win and everything's fine, lose and everybody "sucks".......Amazing!!!

Philly, Green Bay, Indy and Chicago are included in those improbable wins.

I cant believe we lost to the RAMS.

OMG, that is pitiful. so much for the "playoff run" here in DC. that was downright ugly, and there are ABSOLUTELY no positives to come out of that game.

We stink.

I assume this is sarcasm, right?

If not, what makes you so sure we are that much better than the Rams?

Over the next few weeks, when the shellacking the Redskins are going to take starts happening against Philly, Green Bay and Indy -- we're going to look back on that Cowboys victory and wonder how it ever happened.

It's only going to get even more ugly...

Care to revisit this thought?
