I think what's kinda being missed in all of this, not by you per se, is that when Vick returns he's going to think twice, maybe three times, before taking off like that again. Unconfirmed rumors are saying he has three broken ribs, I doubt it but we won't be seeing him anytime soon that's for sure. Funny, Reid was looking like a genius by keeping Vick and starting him. Now he's back to his original choice in Kolb and the pressure is back on Philly.

Kolb just looks like a deer in the highlights. We did ourselves a huge favor by knocking Vick out of the game and bringing him back down to earth.

Not necessarily. The Redskins game planned for Vick all week long. And like someone said before, it wasn't luck that knocked Vick out of the game, it was two of our safeties.

We all want consistency and steady improvement. Whenever you have guys out with injury (Trent Williams...big blow to the OL, and Portis has been gimpy) it is going to cause a bit of a step backwards. If you look at the big picture, there has been much improvement. The Redskins are undefeated in their division....last year they didn't win a division game. The offense is already a world of difference compared to our offense from last year. There is plenty to be optimistic about.

See, I hate it when people posts stuff like this, because it's untrue. True, people in the past have told me that I am overly optimistic, but it's because I have been a life long fan (for nearly 30 years) and I am also a realist. I am very frustrated in Stephon Heyer, for instance. I am very frustrated with the way the defense gives up so many yards per game. I was just as frustrated as anybody about the Houston loss. But, I have to keep in mind that we are only four games into this season under this new regime.

Yes, it is going to take time and unfortunately for you, you will just have to be patient. If we need a new QB by then, well, so be it, but I believe McNabb has more than two years left in his tank. I don't know how old you are, but back in the 80's, the Redskins stayed relatively consistent despite having to change QBs. It was because Gibbs had the team as a whole playing well enough to where he could develop other guys to step in and lead the team. Shanahan has been able to do the similar thing in Denver. So yes, it is going to take time whether if you like it or not.

You here it because it's the truth. A lot of you fans want instant gratification, because it's the age in which we live in. Unfortunately, you have to learn patience.

No seriously, I really think there's more pressure on Kolb now. First he had to replace one of the greatest QBs in the history of the Philly's franchise.

Then he get's benched in favor of a soaring Mike Vick and now he has to replace him. That's some pressure my friend.

I wasn't being sarcastic. I totally agree. I love the new drama they have created for themselves in Philly.

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins at Eagles)

We have a new coach, new GM, new players, and a new QB on our team that stunk last year. It's going to take a little while. Those expecting to roll up 30 pts a game are unrealistic. We need several good drafts before this team is an upper tier team.

With all of that, to beat an NFC east team by 5 pts on the road? I'm happy.

"This defines Team" and "the offense will pick it up and it starts with me" that is leadership, good stuff from McNabb.

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins at Eagles)

My Anti-smackdowns:

AH: Looked like a very decent NT, even while getting held nearly every play.
Lorenzo: MVP! MVP!
McNabb: coaches didn't ask him to win the game, so he didn't have to. Did exactly what was asked of him (although please fall down inbounds when we want to kill the clock)
O-line: Some decent runs off the left (i.e. Heyer) side.
Cooley: good catch for TD obviously and some very good blocking too

No doubt and he sucks. He had Jackson so many times and either didn't see it or overthrew it.
