Re: F Hurricanes...not the football team (but f them too)
That looks really bad Mattyk. Vermont got owned too. It's funny, people here are talking about how the hurricane is overhyped because it wasn't that bad locally. They fail to realize dozens of people died, over 7B in damages and 5M power outages.

Yeah I really don't understand people b*tching about this "overhype." People should be thankful if nothing happened to them and that they were prepared for the worst.

Re: F Hurricanes...not the football team (but f them too)
Heres a pic of my neighbor across the street 2 doors down (it hit the persons house next to him). There is TONS of this around Richmond. Fortunately we didnt really get any real flooding. Theres a 1 foot wide by 40 foot tree that is suspended by power lines i have to drive under to get out of neighborhood . Ive done it 3 times now and i cringe each time.
One thing that is quite remarkable is how fast the clean up has been. Yesterday morning there were a lot of tree like this blocking roads, by the evening the majority of them got cleaned up. Im still without power. At least half of the people i work with are also without power. Sucks. Ive heard Dominion is supposed to come out with a timeline later today.

I agree, this storm wasn't overhyped. Maybe for some areas it was, but in general it's better to be safe than sorry, especially considering what happened with Katrina. |

I'm sorry for the damage to your communities, guys.
And yes, when it comes to hurricanes it is far better to be overhyped than underhyped.

We got hit pretty hard and lost three really big trees. One fell into my neighbors yard and the other two are in the back of our lot so I can cut them up a little each weekend. I have several buddies who want some for fire wood so we will cut it up and rent a splitter. |

Re: F Hurricanes...not the football team (but f them too)
My aunt and uncle live in southern Vermont. Their little town got pounded. A bridge collapsed, basically everyone is without power, several houses crushed by large trees... Fortunately they are ok, but not everyone in their town can say the same.
