Pretty much. It just seems we are always a few inches away from being a good team. I don't think it's time to eliminate anyone from the coaching staff. Haslett seems to be on his way out, but a win next week before the bye and a weeks rest could prepare us for our schedule.

I'm not ready to give up, but I'm starting to wonder if Mike wants to run more traditional offense similar to what they run with Cousins, and Kyle isn't ready to give up his RO yet.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame

The franchise likes to shoot itself in the foot and to be honest because of this Snyder has got himself cornered where he dare not do anything when maybe it should be done because of the never ending drama he has created over 14 years as being the owner. He handled Norv wrong in firing him mid season, got rid of Marty after the team was finally buying into his system, just because Marty wanted to be GM also. He hires Spurrier, who should not have been hired, as anyone should have told Snyder that his system wouldn't work in the NFL. Bringing Gibbs back was a good move, but not when Gibbs was chained with an idiot Cerrato. Zorn was just a fill in, a tragic fill in, that got thrown under the bus until Shanahan or Cowher was available. Now we got a stud QB, and a decent GM(so it seems), but our coach obviously was overrated, thus we have to ride this roller coaster for probably through 2014 only to start over again with a new HC/OC/DC which of course means we will have to revamp a large part of our personnel, mainly on the D, which means another 2 season of mediocre football, and a bunch more bitching by us.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame

Why get rid of the coaches when it's much more about the way the players are performing and executing than anything. I was saying this in preseason about the drops. The drops will kill the offense. This team, whether you like it or not, will always continue to be driven by the offense.

But what the defense needs the most is - strong man-to-man corners.

Not disagreeing, but we could have the best DC in NFL and it wouldn't help us tackle better or cover up we have a bad secondary lacking talent.

Agreed. We just don't the talent. Orakpo is just not what we need him to be. Where was Kerrigan today? Can the guys that play inside cave in the pocket? What about the penalties? Missed tackles?

When they go back to practice they shouldn't even game plan. Just hit, tackle...fundamentals.

Bowen has been MIA for 3 weeks. Orakpo is inconsistent, but mostly terrible when asked to cover. I've always felt that Rak makes a better 4-3 DE than a 3-4 OLB. He has underachieved in this system.

If your hearing Bowens name a lot then he's not doing his job in the 3/4. It's not his job to get in the backfield and make huge plays. Although it helps when he does sometimes, when the ball has commited to his side.

Tell that to J.J. Watt, who also is a 3-4 DE. 3-4 DE's can make plays...but Bowen hasn't.

Re: Redskins Lions postgame

2 plays that would have changed the game entirely - RGIII's head-first slide/fumble and Aldrick Robinson's td drop.

Not guaranteed, but we would be looking at this team and season much more differently if neither of these plays happened.

And the ill-advisied interception on the pass when we were threatening to score.

Why aren't more people suggesting to rather get rid of Aldrick Robinson? I wouldn't agree, but if you need a scapegoat to sacrifice to the football gods- there you go.

I know our problem RGII needs to run out and do an interview for another article because the thousand he did don't seem to be working.
