Redwolves was never going to happen... It's already used with Ark State and if I remember correctly they were in a legal fight with someone else already that was trying to use that name.

We need to go real random, if we want to be OGs. I'm going with Civets.

But Commanders is really the one that would disappoint me the most...

You know I'm all in on Redwolves/Wolves, but:

-Defenders, Renegade, Armada, Sentinels etc... I could see how it could be made cool with a nice logo and all
-Any Hogs option I'd have actually enjoyed. Easy to be made fun of, but unique and roots in our history
-Warriors... not creative but easy to have a dope logo and identity
...

But Commanders ? Really ? Why so serious...

I like Armada over Commanders too, not that either are my preference.

Armada is a fleet, Maryland has the Naval academy, a lot of boating history in the DMV, and the it is a force.

Commanders doesn't roll off the tongue in any type of chant, and just sounds flat to me.

Not my preference. Actually quite far down my personal list. But I could see how I could get on board with it.
Even if it initially refers to a warships fleet, Armada more widely expresses a group of men fighting together.
Commanders just refers to the few that are giving orders.

That's like the opposite of team spirit to me. I want the name to refer to the whole team, how many commanders can you have on a team before it self destructs ?

Anyway, mainly a subjective thing, for me Commanders simply sounds like a couple of old white dudes in uniforms with a bunch of sticks up their arses, nothing cool nor exciting about it.
