Gtripp, didn't Breaston lead the league in dropped passes? Thought I saw an article on this somewhere.

#1) Barrett Ruud. Allen drafted him, there's a bit of an issue with the Bucs right now as he had a mediocre year after being neglected for Donald Penn (rightfully so).

#2) Braylon Edwards. Gives us a receiver with size. The knock on him is his hands, well.. there's no better option at this point.

After you sign these two, you sit back and wait till the draft starts up, see what you can get and go from there.

*Draft Von Miller, sign Ruud, and we're looking at a Miller - Ruud - Fletcher - Orakpo core..

With our current QB situation...Id sign Leinart, resign Grossman and draft a QB with our 1 or 2 draft pick. Grossman role would be one of coach to the draft pick and teacher of the system to Leinart. Have all out competion for starter between the 3.

I not of fan of his personality, but he needs a change of scenary. Young, decent arm, affordable, little risk, still has potential, etc. I would give him a shot. I think if he struggle and wouldnt be a fit, we could still get the same play out of Grossman...bridging that gap to our draft pick.

What is the ideal QB situation next year for us? Another Vet? Maybe a fail draft pick (Alex Smith, Leinhart, Quinn, Young), Draft pick? Grossman?

My 3: Grossman, Leinart, and draft pick

Bulger still gets a lot of buzz. Though I can't quite figure out why

I don't see Young or Quinn here, but stranger things have happened

I mentioned last year that Shanahan likes Leinart (like him 5 years ago at least) and that there were rumors Leinart might be with the Skins via a trade (for a late conditional pick). It's still possible, but less likely now I think. Leinart's a free agent and I don't believe he wants to be here, prefers to stay out west (Though if Jeff Fisher comes calling, that might be different)

The Alex Smith speculation I seem to have started here is based more on what I know of what type of QB may interest them (and a couple other things), but the name Alex Smith has been only casually mentioned in passing. So, if you were to ask me what FA QB they going after based on information directly given I'd tell you Leinart, Bulger, or even JaMarcus Russell before I said Alex Smith. But if you read between some of the lines (lines which I know not everyone has access to read). Similarly, when you-the collective you-asked last year about who the Redskins would draft. The conventional names I gave were Russell Okung, Eric Berry...but reading between the lines it was Trent Williams.

Having just looked through the list of RFAs/UFAs/etc.. I have a question.

Since there will be a new CBA, will somebody like Reed Doughty (who would have been an RFA going by last years format) allow us to receive compensation if he leaves still?

Still no Kyle Orton or Kolb I assume?

If Alex Smith was given a shot i wouldnt b*tch too much, but geez watching him play bout 5 different times over the season...he was pretty bad. It really seemed to me the 49ers offensive cordinator(s) were all pretty effing bad which didnt help. I just think it would be an automatic Grossman could play just as well. If you bring another vet in, the assumption must be he has the potential to start over Grossman. Vince Young, Matt Lienart I could see given a shot......Alex Smith is iffy IMO

At this point I'd take Bulger over Grossman or McNabb. He's a pretty damn good pure passer. He just needs a strong o-line in front of him. Not the playmaker that McNabb is but he can make all the throws and is very accurate.

Agreed. He's HORRIBLE.

I'd rather play Beck, seriously.

Robert Gallery would be a solid short-term solution.

I'm not saying we're interested at all...but, how would people feel about Robert Gallery?

I actually looked on the raiders pg. once last year to see why he wasn't starting (he was hurt). I thought he might be available in a trade. Gallery is intriguing. He couldn't cut it at tackle I think because of footwork/movement issues, so is his agility suited for the zone scheme?

He seems to have resurrected his career to some degree after many called him a bust. He shouldn't be too expensive so if the shans think he's a zone blocker, I'm all for it. I always assumed that they ran more of a power running system in Oak.

Cable's all about zone blocking. Gallery was pretty decent after Cable moved him to guard.

Personally, I'm not sure I would sign Gallery. Just asking if others would
