Really? The offense Batch has played his entire career is absolutely nothing like thw WCO run by Shanahan. It would take him atleast a year just to get where Grossman is now. Grossman is someone i never want to see start for us, but he's familiar with the system and Shanahan evidently trusted him enough to be willing to let Campbell walk for a 2012 4th rounder. I'm way more confident in Grossman than I would be in Batch. Pittsburg is the only place in the NFL where Batch has a chance to make a roster, let alone be penciled in as a starter.

Bucs cut Guard Aaron Sears, "Sears was a second-round draft pick in 2007. He started 31 games in his first two seasons with the team, but sat out all of last season on the non-football illness list. The Bucs have not publicly discussed the reason."

Re: Undrafted Free Agents Signed

I'm more interested in his WR abilities. I honestly don't think any player will get much yards after the kick or punt with our blocking style. On a side note we have many players who are elligable to perform the KR/PR duties...

Moss
Thomas
Hall
Buchanon
Austin

Maybe Alridge. Did I miss anyone else?

This guy is quick, not fast. I throw the bullshit flag on his 4.38 speed. Its high 4.4's. I could see 4.48. At his size he should be faster but he's got the moves to make this still a solid pickup for us. If he had 4.38 speed he wouldnt be caught as often as he has in most of his returns and he'd have many more touchdowns.

you're right.
i fired off that post without considering scheme/style. in general, i do think Batch has more in the tank than others his age. and while Rex throws most of his completions to the guys in the other shirts, he knows the offensive from being with Kyle in houston so that's a plus. i was just hoping he was brought in to hold a clipboard and our #2 would be someone more reliable if pressed into action.

I wish Sears the best, but I don't think it would benefit the Redskins to take on such a challenge

Re: Undrafted Free Agents Signed

Got to watch a bunch of Penn State games..Darryl Clark's play is nearly identical to McNabb's...could be interesting to see how that pans out.

I read a article that suggested Moss would have the honor this season.

At this point I don't know who they will have doing it. On Redskins.com they interviewed Buchanon and he said the coaching staff brought him in with the understanding that he would be the KR/PR. He was all excited about getting back to what he was doing originally when he was first drafted.

I keep hearing people talking about how the team needs a KR/PR and they should find a RB who can do the job.... no sense in having 3 RB's.

Now I keep hearing the team picked up Austin cause of his KR/PR abilities.

I think I'll go with the Buchanon interview since he's already on the team, a marginal CB, and has speed, and has done KR/PR duties previously.

Do you know what the reason was for his time away and dismissal?

doesn't have to be either/or. Moss has already done some punt returns for us. All of these guys might do some return work, or there is a competition for each spot. I seriously doubt Buchanon or Moss will return kickoffs though.

good observation, but they are timed running in a straight line w/no interupptions. Getting into high gear is a different story w/tacklers coming at you from different angles. He might not be as quick/fast changing directions.
