With Warner's retirement, Roethlisberger's suspension, doubt about the Giants, Favre's uncertainty, he could easily slide in to say the 8 spot.

If you value accuracy even in the slightest, it's hard to argue in favor of McNabb.

I can't think of one thing McNabb does better than Rivers. Throw deep? Nah.

For a big guy he isn't a red zone threat and he can't seperate. He reminds me of a poor man's Roy Williams which isn't very good. Kelly is a good kid and may work hard but he's just got too many things going against him.
We didn't really utilize him in the Red Zone the way that you'd expect. We seemed more content running swinging gates and running left.

I'm not taking Matt Schaub over McNabb. Sorry but the guy's only done it for one year and is as soft as butter. And I'm not even sure about Romo or Rivers. I'd say right now they're probably even but McNabb has done more with less so you could easily argue that McNabb is better than both of them.

they're both very good deep throwers. they're just different types of qb's but both are very good.

Yeah, I can see #8 this year. I can kinda see the McNabb side of Eli vs. McNabb, but based on recent history (just the last two years) Eli has been a little bit above McNabb in terms of production.

It's just two years though, so I can see the system change propeling McNabb back to second in the division. It's a small leap of faith, but justifiable for a Redskins fan.

maybe he wasn't on the field because the coaching staff knows he's on the team and they need to evaluate the other WRs.

With that said, every spot is open after Moss and Armstrong. Still skeptical that Galloway or Wade or Roydell Williams have a chance to make it, but this team does have more invested in both Banks and Austin than Thomas. I think that's a really bad sign for Thomas, especially now that we know Kelly is going to open next offseason with the team.
Moss, Galloway and Thomas are locks. Armstrong has played his way on the team. With Kelly on IR, it's probably going to be Roydell and Austin if they go with 6 WR. Thursday night is huge for those two guys.

Very good almost undersells Rivers' deep accuracy. McNabb still misses a lot in the deep field, but he ranks a lot higher in those stats than in the intermediate and short field breakdowns. I think he's a top five deep ball thrower, if possibly just fourth or fifth best.

LOLOLOLOLOL....Romo, Farve? Farve isnt gonna last this year. Flacco, Matty Ice Id consider over them. Sorry no way Id take any of those over McNabb. Brees, Manning, Rodgers, Schaub, and Brady, Rivers for sure at this point.

Rivers almost never crosses the line of scrimmage with the ball, and when McNabb does, it's usually for just a yard or three.

Oh, I wasn't really referring to actually taking off. I meant keeping his cool and moving around in the backfield. Rivers looks lost when under pressure, McNabb looks like he's seen it for a decade.

Rivers is pretty much unflappable in the pocket. Out of the pocket, I feel like they are the same player. Rivers keep his eyes downfield, but no question he's less accurate when moving his feet.

McNabb is just fine throwing on the run, arguably better, even. But I might take Rivers' limited accuracy on the run over McNabb's on the run, all things considered. It's close. I don't know.

No doubt.. and John Clayton might agree with us

Ranking the Beast quarterbacks - NFC East Blog - ESPN

Quote:
9. Donovan McNabb, Washington Redskins

Clayton's analysis: Mike Shanahan offers McNabb play-action options he didn't have with the Eagles' pass-heavy offense. With McNabb at the helm, the Redskins could be one of the surprise teams in the NFC.

Arrow is pointing: Spinning as he adjusts to a new offense

Mosley's take: I have immense respect for McNabb's fine work, but he probably wouldn't make my "elite" list. This is something that McNabb will undoubtedly use as motivation in 2010.
