Re: Sons of Anarchy
I'm tempted to watch season 6 tonight even though I still haven't seen season 5. Too cheap to pay for it on iTunes. Hopefully Redbox will release season 5 ASAP for me to blitz through and actually get caught up.

Re: Sons of Anarchy
I agree. If you see 6 without seeing 5 I think you'd be completely lost.

Fought off the temptation. Guess I won't be hanging around the water cooler for a while...

Re: Sons of Anarchy
I totally stopped watching this when they kidnapped Jax's son. Maybe I need to re-pick it up.

Re: Sons of Anarchy
I'm going to try and be spoiler free:
I'm really not feeling good about them using last nights plot point to incorporate them getting in trouble again this year. I'm sure they could have done it some other way. Also really tired of them going back and forth on me being able to root for Jax with all his adultery shit. Seriously feeling like the only characters I have left to pull for is Chibs and Bobby.

Overall I thought the episode was pretty meh for an opener. I find it hard to feel for any of the characters anymore. I kinda understand the adultery lean, there's only so much you can push a man away before he starts getting the wandering eye, but damn, you know? Jax talks about family first and all this other mumbo jumbo and then beds the first bimbo who talks sweet to him. I keep thinking about how this show is supposed to end. Everyone's going to have either quit or got themselves killed. Everything is so fractured at this point I don't see how an ending is even going to make sense.

Re: Sons of Anarchy
My view is it's a TV show, don't like it don't watch. SOA has never shied away from pushing things over the line.
I think it's an interesting twist myself. |

Re: Sons of Anarchy
Haven't watched the season opener yet, so thanks for keeping this topic spoiler free. Definitely going to watch tonight, honestly not sure what to expect based off the previews I've seen.

Re: Sons of Anarchy
That was an okay season opener, but definitely not as good as the ones in seasons' past. I can't wait to see how Donal Logue's character ends up crashing and burning the way all the other thorns' in Samcro's sides have ended in past seasons. Other than that was anything that happened particularly surprising? For me not really, but we know what to expect by now.

Re: Sons of Anarchy
Sutter has wanted to do this angle for a while but never had it worked out to fit until now. It's his take on tackling head-on the propensity for TV shows to ignore the real affects of what these guys do as a whole versus just the affects on them and their families. Same situation as Breaking Bad. Very little exposition focuses on how WW's meth affects the community. Its all focused on his life and his environment.
I thought Sutter's mechnaism for delving into it was a little over the top but that's what SOA is about. All thse crazy situations of a life-style none of us can really relate to and how these somewhat everyday type of people have adapted or are adapting to it. Plus it sets up how the show ends I believe is what eh has said. |
