Worse case scenario is he'll be given a chance to play safety if he doesn't pan out.

You just wonder if there was an OT available worth the 51st pick.

Who will be targeted in the 3rd?

Let's hope he's ready to start at CB or FS day one. That would be helpful. If not, with Crawford he gives us a nice duo at nickel/dime/spot starter back.

OK. I'm overreacting. Amerson is a good prospect. I'm excited for new talent.

I like the Amerson pick.
He is a tampa 2 style CB and who better to coach him than Morris.
He reminds me alot of Sean Smith and Richard Sherman. also, his 13 int in 2011 shows he plays the ball well in the air and makes plays.

If he can improve his footwork, he will match up well with the big WR in the division.

His NFL comparable player was in fact, Sean Smith. Good call.

I saw one report on Bleacher Reports that even compared him to Nnamdi so we shall see. Thought our bigger weakness was at safety, but the CB spot needed help in general.

David Amerson NFL Draft 2013: Pro Potential Projections | Bleacher Report

And according to his teleconference interview he won't be initially switching to safety, at least according to conversations with the coaches, but is open to the idea.

Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3

Amerson had 5 picks last year, THIRTEEN the year before.

And he is a press-cover guy who consistently covered the opposing teams best receiver.

6'2" 194. Played safety in HS.

57 tackles in 2010, 59 in 2011, 61 in 2012. According to USA Today, he is built more like a safety, and is big and physical and a good tackler.

safeties are going slow, maybe we could even pass on one in the 3rd as well? that idea just scared me a little though. easily our biggest need!

Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3

yeah, physically/stats wise, he's exactly what you want. if he can be coached up, he could be amazing. but if not, you know... a bigger version of hall.
