It is, but not at a 6 mil per season price tag.

Re: Skins vs Packers post game thread
The Skins have played two games. They are in a relatively weak division where no team is undefeated. If they must be 0-2, then they are at least fortunate enough to be only one game behind the division leaders. They could turn things around and win the division. Such things happen all the time in the NFL. Like the Redskins' great finish last season, for example.

Re: Skins vs Packers post game thread
The NFC east could end up being the worst division in football. 0-4 outside of the division thus far. Of course it's only two weeks but a 9-7 team will probably win the division again.

Re: Skins vs Packers post game thread
After watching our team yesterday get totally embarrased by the Packers, I don't care if the Redskins can come back and win the division or not, they are not going to advance anywhere in the playoffs with this defense OR offense. If you have to go play a game at Green Bay or Seattle, you are not winning. Those two teams have the biggest home field advantage I have ever seen.

All of the whining and negativity on this board is way out of line in view of how early it is in the season.

However that's not the case. The Redskins came out and actually didn't play at all until late 3rd quarter against the Eagles when the Eagles felt bad and started playing prevent defense. Yes they were tired by that point and up by 30 something points but they took their foot off the pedal. The Packers learned from what the Eagles did. Again the Redskins didn't show up to play and it wasn't until the 3rd quarter that they looked remotely decent but again only after the Packers backed off. I think if the Skins were competitive most of us would not have a problem with the losing, but they are not even showing up until the second half of two games so far. I almost wish they would scrimmage a college team an hour before the game and ride a bus over and play the actual game. Maybe then they would look a little better after having played a whole half prior to the game starting. |

- The Eagles suffered injuries, especially to Jason Peters who's the best player on that team and arguably the best LT in football, and completely fell apart as Reid's tenure drew to a close - The Cowboys lost 8 of 11 defensive starters - The Giants are who they are, bad until they're really good So we came out on top of a really weak division, and lost the first playoff game in what was probably the most controversial coaching decision in decades, to play a QB who was severely injured and everyone knew it. ...and that's the highpoint of Mike's time in DC. The rest has been an absolute failure and embarrassment. Unprepared and undisciplined throughout. Piss poor play-calling and adjustment on both sides of the ball. Minimal passion/excitement across the board, whether you're watching coaches and players on the sidelines, or what's happening on field. There's clearly a lack of leadership. There's no continuity with this coaching staff either. You can't turn the team over to Kyle who hasn't shown any ability or leadership to be an HC. Haslett isn't HC material, per his record. Maybe the DB coach? I guess I just don't know what we're waiting on???????? You can't honestly look at this team and say we're anywhere near the level of Seattle, San Fran, GB, and I would add the Saints as they work out some kinks. And that's just in the NFC. Looking out over the league, we're maybe a top 15 team at best. How many years do you give a guy? Mike's completely made this his team. In fact, more than any HC in the league, this is the team the HC envisioned, almost total control. 5 years? 10 years? Denver did that and finally realized Mike couldn't do anything without Elway, who ironically has turned out to be a more successful football mind across the board. I think the writing is on the wall, it's each person's choice to read it though.

If we finish under 500 this year I'd be surprised if we don't have a new HC

Re: Skins vs Packers post game thread
I think that they are staying out of the intense monday morning quarterbacking going on here.
It's that, or they just don't understand that we are suffering from The Curse of Pat White. Every NFL team who has cut Pat White suffered a losing season the next year. Now it is our turn to be doomed.
