Yea I agree with this. They would probably be like what the Lions or Bengals are right now.

I don't think Bill has ever assembled a defense that was good enough to win it on its own. Like the 2001 Ravens or last year's Seattle.

He is great at both offense and defense. Some coaches just know how to assemble talent on both sides.

It's not like he "lost his clutch ability" if they lose it.

The difference between you and me is that I recognize BB as one of the top 2 coaches of all time and continues to put complete teams around Brady, whereas you think the Patriots would not be crap without him.

I have zero idea about what u are referring to. Who is judging Brady based on a series of plays? What?
Listen man as Calia pointed out you lost some major coin on the game - got home- and starting plastering the board with a bunch of nonsense about how Brady got outplayed and he is lucky - its all there for everyone to see. Now your backtracking because you realize how ridiculous you sounded and blaming me for putting words in your sentences? Anybody can go back and read the thread.

Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread

The only Seahawk I feel bad for this morning is Russell Wilson. He is the only guy on that team that I have complete respect for. As for the rest of the Seahawks, HAHA!

I still despise the New England Patriots about as much as the Cowboys, but I wasn't too upset over them getting their fourth Super Bowl title. I am almost certain it will be their last title, and I'm certain that the Seahawks will somehow make it back to the Super Bowl again next year (much to my dismay.) But I think the seahawks fans needed to experience some bitter disappointment, because they were getting quite cocky.

Why do you think this will be the Patriots last? That team is going to be just as deadly next year as well. They are already the favorites to be in the SB again, along with Seattle.

I agree with the Seahawk fans thing. God damn they've been annoying the past year.

I think it was more about Seattle being terrified that they couldn't cover Gronk so they spent the game taking him out with help from Chancellor which made them give more field responsibility to the LBs which opened the underneath for exploitation. If only Tom Brady wasn't such a hack Patriots would have won by 30.

Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread

Where do people rank him compared to Manning now? Especially comparing how they played in the Super Bowl vs. similar teams.

Also thinking about the great season Manning had last year.

Manning is/was great in his own right, but it's no question Brady had the more successful career since he got it done when it counts. Manning and Brady went up against a very similar team in the biggest game of the year and Brady won, whereas Manning got demolished. Even if Manning came back and won another trophy I still think Brady had the better career.

I always want to give Manning the edge, but not sure i can anymore. I would love to somehow plug Manning into last nights game with all variables being the same and see what would have happened? Is Manning a choker?

Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread

I don't think Manning is a choker.

I think the problem with Manning has been when the game gets ugly it gets really ugly for him. Playoff games are often ugly which is why manning has struggled. I think he pays too much attention to the smallest detail (part of what makes him great) and when those things don't go his way he makes terrible mistakes.

I also think he has only had a truly elite defense one or two times in his career as opposed to Brady having an elite D for his first 3 super bowls (He hasn't had a truly elite defense since then though). But to call him a choker has always been too much in my opinion.
