Re: WFT 2020 Training Camp
Moss is gone (foot) but if he clears waivers, which is likely he'll probably be back on IR.

Re: WFT 2020 Training Camp
Well, there goes my sleeper pick for the year. Heard he was related to some famous guy or something.

Re: WFT 2020 Training Camp
In the second episode of this year's Hard Knocks, Ramsey says to a rookie DB "If you're watching the QB you gonna watch him complete passes on you".
It's so obvious to me, and in the past it was infuriating to watch our LBs in particular get manipulated by opposing teams' QBs when playing zone... I hope that's one thing we won't see anymore ! Very good DBs can take the chance and read QB eyes every now and then and make picks because of it, but IMO it's always safer to play your assignment and watch the guy/zone you're supposed to cover. Not familiar with RR and Del Rio's styles enough to know how they're coaching it though. |

Re: WFT 2020 Training Camp

Everything I’ve heard is the offense looks terrible so far (yes defense always ahead of offense, but still). Ron apparently was pissed with the effort and lit their ass up. Greg Stroman had a pick today and has played well through four days of training camp. He could be on the 53-man roster when cuts come down in a few weeks. Jimmy Moreland also grabbed an INT and is definitely on the roster. It seemed like the defensive staff gave Kendall Fuller some time off today so they could watch Moreland more in depth. Adrian Peterson and Antonio Gibson looked quite impressive on Saturday. Peterson showed burst and Gibson seemed to be involved on nearly every play. Those two and Bryce Love look like they will have a large role this fall. Rivera said that Washington is making a point to have Terry McLaurin on the field for all of Haskins’ snaps, and the QB is giving his star wideout plenty of chances. Haskins seems to go to McLaurin as often as possible and isn’t gun shy to give the WR chances on jump balls. Linebackers Kevin Pierre-Louis and Shaun Dion Hamilton had good days, flying to the football. Troy Apke looks somewhat cemented as the starting free safety alongside Landon Collins. That’s unexpected but Rivera said he likes what he sees thus far from Apke. The former Penn Stater has plenty of speed and hitting ability but struggled with his pursuit angles in the past.

Re: WFT 2020 Training Camp
Thanks for sharing the article, Chico. I should start going to that website for the updates.
It seems like Barber will be the odd man in the RB committee, I'm glad to see that Love is doing really well. It's still too early but I think there's a good chance we will have a "problem" with deciding who should carry the ball, which is a good problem to have. I'm still surprised about Apke, but it shows how much work Apke has put in. If Apke actually becomes a full time starter, it will only further shows how great Kyle Smith is at drafting. |

Re: WFT 2020 Training Camp
It could also signal good coaching; you can't coach speed and hitting ability but the rest...

Lots of good stuff here. -- Looks like Logan Thomas is excelling. And splitting Haskins out wide, for Thomas to run the wildcat?? Things that make you go hmmmmm. -- Haskins was sharp yesterday. -- The D made lots of plays too, so it falls in the category of "you can find good news, or bad news, on every play". -- AP is timeless. -- Bryce Love and McKissic stood out. |

Re: WFT 2020 Training Camp
Agree...but he’s their starting TE for sure. I haven’t heard a peep about Jeremy Sprinkle.

It’s all been about Baugh making some nice early practice plays at TE; with Thomas passing him the last couple days. I read Thomas had two TD passes yesterday or Saturday. As you said Sprinkle is doing nothing to impress. I see Thomas as a starter, with Baugh showing some talent. Let’s see is he can keep up the catches and be the Cinderella story of this training camp?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It is practice. It means very little to nothing. Week one is all that matters.

Maybe it's because between BA being gone, RR starting a new regime, and the name change, it truly feels like a complete new era and we don't know how much the team will be different, and we have no pre-season to get a (completely flawed) sense of what it'll look like, but I don't remember us being THAT caught up in every single practice in previous seasons.
