I think if the Skins would have gave Hall what he wanted when talks first broke, he would be signed at between 14 and 16m and it be a done deal.

Now that Hall sees what other "unstingy" teams are doing $$$ to keep their talent, he will probably demand more or wait and see if someone else will pay him.

That IMO is typical Redskin negotiations. And what I find funny is how once again every other teams players are better or worth the $$$. But the Skins players are not.

I agree with BHA the Skins are being stingy with Hall. And if we lose Hall over 2 or 3mill. Or if we end up paying him more than 16M. Then, we will look back and say another dumb move by FO.IMO. Of course this all depends on if what we are hearing from outside sources are true.

I think we will be really hurting if we loose Hall, I love what he brings to the D, and without him I feel like our DB's become much more limited in what they can do in coverage. Smoot seems like he didin't do anything last year, and Springs we all know his problems, Tryon is funny to me now after all his talk in the off season, and Los is my only DB besides Landry who I feel is worth a damn. KEEP HALL! Plus I really look good in his jersey!

I ask as a semi honest question:
Was our DB coverage really the issue last year before Hall signed on?

As I remember it the first 5 or 6 games our DBs covered AZ (and we know they have receivers), NO, Dallas, and Philly's all impressive DeSean Jackson (i didn't think anybody could cover him).

over and over I just keep thinking, yes Hall would be good, but please don't overpay him. For me that would be the bigger FO blunder, having to lose another player at some point because we stretched to keep Hall.

[EDIT] - ok, now i'm the 1st post on the 15th page. maybe it something with my browser. If so, my apologies for the off-topic post.

I just heard on SportsNite the Redskins are trying to get a deal done with Hall before Free Agency starts Friday and are offering a contract with 15 mil guaranteed.

I wonder, or highly suspect, whether the FO started to get word Hall will be much more expensive once he reaches the market based on some teams really wanting to address their secondary?

... get er done Vinny.

BigHairedAristocrat spread that rumour so we would hurry up and sign him.

Shhh, dont tell Vinny. I don't want him catching on to my cunning ways... atleast not until i can trick him into into firing himself.

Re: For all you D Hall lovers

how much is hall going for? how much for dunta? cause if i could pick, dunta is a true starter, hall is overhyped (and very very short).

Dunta got tagged, so he's out of the question for us (we only have four draft picks people).

Skins Like Canty ... and Other Free-Agent Buzz - Redskins Insider
Quote:
The plan remains largely as it was more than a month ago - to try to re-sign DeAngelo Hall, plug gaps on the offensive and defensive lines with value free agents, and likely re-sign some of their aging veterans on the cheap as insurance (Pete Kendall, maybe Phillip Daniels). Vinny Cerrato, the vice president of football operations, has expressed some frustration to others around the league about the slow progress with Hall, and the gap that exists between the sides, but the Redskins will continue try to sign him until free agency begins at 12:01 Friday
I really can't believe that Hall will not sign a reasonable contract. It amazes me, and really makes me want him less. Argue what you will about how he deserves to be paid or that he is a top flight CB. The fact remains in his brief career he has been on 3 teams. If the Skins offered him over $10million guaranteed as reported, I think it is outrageous that he has not signed. (Spare me what Oakland paid, just tack Oakland's 8mill that he "stole" last year to whatever our contract offer was and he would be in the same range) I like his hands, but at this point if he leaves, I for one will not cry a bit.
