Reasons for drafting Sanchez

But hey, don't let that get in the way of an opportunity to drop an advance "told you so" in here.

Shawn Hill blows and so does Alex Smith. I'll take JC over those guys any day of the week.

honestly i think my dog could qb the jets, all they need is someone to out the ball in the rb's hands, and ocasionally throw a pass. sanchez may eventually be a good qb, but as of right now he hasn't done anything to show that he will be anytime soon. when you have a team with an outstanding offensive line, great running game, and good d you really don't need a manning or elway behind center for you, just ask mark rypien

One reason the mocks mostly have us taking a qb is because Okung is gone before the fourth pick. A lot of what we do will be determined by the 3 teams in front of us.

Mock drafts are routinely mistaken, especially when they appear before the Combine. Who mocks have us taking is not a very good predictor at this point in time.

Mock drafts are pretty worthless. I'm always amazed how some get so caught up in them.

We will find out this weekend how good of a QB Sanchez is. The Jets will probably have to throw the ball to keep up with Peyton Manning. 93 yards passing won't cut it in the AFC Championship vs. the Colts.

The Colts aren't going to have an easy time against the Jets D. And if I'm the Colts D I'm not looking forward to stopping the Jets running game.

The Jets have gotten this far with a simple formula, I think they'll lose but they definitely have a good shot.

We weren't debating the veracity of a mock draft. We were debating who the sportswriters thought the Redskins would draft. Also, Mock Drafts are generally correct on the first 3 picks. After that, it's gets tougher to predict who'll draft whom.

We draft #4 though...honestly it all will depend on what St. Louis does. If they go QB, the Lions will take Suh in a heartbeat. Based on Tampa's pick, we could very well have our pick between Bradford and Okung.

There also is a free agency period before we even get to the draft. If we sign a particular QB, for example only, we might be far less likely to go QB at #4. Same argument for left tackle, etc. Mock drafts offer soft guidance at best.

Well I was thinking (more like hoping) that Tampa Bay would be enticed to take Berry at #3. As I mentioned before, if this is the case then the picks would be #1. A QB for the Rams (Clausen or Bradford), #2. Suh to the Lions, #3. Berry to the Bucs, and we would get our pick of best tackle (Okung) or second best QB.

In this case, if Okung is horrible for some reason, with Bradford there I could see a QB-starved team (i.e. Bills, Seahawks) wanting to make a move to #4.
