Re: AH trade II La Canfora insists AH is indeed on the trading block.

Bottom line is a 2nd rd pick for Al would be terribly stupid. Our FO was saved from itself by the other franchises involved...i think it's that simple.

Obviously I sympathize w/ Haynesworth. He's the best in football and from the information we have available he looked to play at his highest level ever this season. So, you build your defense around the best defensive player playing at his best. Our braintrust opted to go in a different direction despite 1) Haynesworth 2) we (still) don't have the personnel to ensure a strong defense in the new scheme 3) we don't have a proven coach to lead the unit through such a difficult transition.

We should not expect the defense to be a dominant unit this year.

Until he is actually traded. is there anything to talk about here? "Insiders" are right all the time...

Now that the draft is over we will have other opportunities to deal Phal Al, should we desire. A team like the Rams might not have been willing to surrender high picks this year but may be willing to surrender next year's picks as the season approaches.

We won more with Vinny

I highly doubt this. Unless something else surfaces (by a credible source like Schefter) I think this idea of trading AH is dead in the water.

Haynesworth now needs to prove MS wrong and show up in shape and ready to play; while the coaching staff need to figure out the best way to use AH's talent.

C'mon dude every d-coordinator in the NFL knows how to best use Al's talent. It just so happens our coaches believe in their superiority so much they've convinced themselves they can create a better defense not built around the best defensive player, as opposed to building around him. This is Shanny/Haslett saying "our scheme is so fantastic we can under-utilize the very best and get the best result."

...I'll be shocked, truly shocked if they succeed.

What are you on about? This is a Hall of Fame caliber head coach making a statement that me first prima donna behavior is over at Redskins Park. No matter how good you are. Period.

He got a lot on the first day of the draft, reporting picks the second they were turned in while ESPN had to wait for the actual announcement but this is something that the fanbase won't forget anytime soon.

Also keep in mind that Mike Lombardi broke the Campbell to the Raiders story. Lol just realized theres two of those today.
