Not sure without seeing the contract but basically just means there are provisions in there that will make a void in 2014 very likely.

It may mean the team and/or player can void after 2013. Or there could be a poison pill roster bonus in 2014 (ie like a $10M roster bonus which will most likely never be paid). But considering the deal is announced as 5 years $12M, doesn't seem to be a poison pill in there.

It's really a two year deal. We just make it a 5 year deal so the signing bonus can be spread out over 5 years instead of 2. The contract automatically voids after 2 years. We did the same thing with Todd Collins in 2008. Since our recent cap screw job, this needed to be done.

It'd be nice to get an idea of what the hell is going on. The NFL has only alluded to it.

Still it'll be fun to see the commish announce the Skins and Cowboy picks come April 26. Redskin and Cowboy fans booing together. Should be quite a sight.

Yes I believe we are, although it's directed more towards owners than it is Goodell. And I personally support this strategy.
