Re: Around the NFL Offseason 2013
Oakland is no worse and it might be safer than some parts of DC. I like Raiders better than the Forty whiners.

Re: Around the NFL Offseason 2013
I just wonder if their seating capacity is suppressed due to fan intimidation. They're not going to get many visiting team fans and a lot of people probably do fear for their life in their own team's stadium.
Oakland is one city I'm staying far away from.

I hate statements like that. The money obviously went somewhere. If the money really was lost instead: On disaster, unexpected expenses like say vandalism or lawsuits or lack of fan revenue, who knows... then how can Trask say that a deal that works is possible?

When your team is a regular on a site called "Fans Against Violence", that's probably not a good thing. http://www.fansagainstviolence.org/tag/oakland-raiders/

I actually think reducing stadium size as a whole is a good idea. 50K might be too small but the 85K and larger stadiums lend themselves to being flooded by opposing team fans.

Maybe with PSLs and such, going to the game has become, more and more, only for the few people that can afford a lot? |

That's because no one wants to go to Pittsburgh.

Re: Around the NFL Offseason 2013
Why not? Just think about all the popular old steel mills that have been abandoned since the 70's that you can explore? Or the gritty assholishness of the Steeler fans? "6 rings baby, oh yeah best franchise of all time in the NFL, plus we got Sid the Kid and the Pirates are in 1st place! Greatest city of all time!"
Who wouldn't want to go visit that? |
