How so? Because they said he would be drafted in the 2nd. Well technically he wasn't drafted in the second, but the ONLY reason he was drafted in the first (with the very last pick no doubt) was so they could get that extra 5th year option. It's not like they think he's a first round talent or otherwise he would have been gone long before the 32nd pick in the first.

I'm not. Most of these analysts had Teddy going top 10 and some even first when the process started, but that changed very fast once they started talking to actual scouts and NFL personnel who knew better.

I dunno it was kinda suspect that people kept pointing out flaws like hand size and frame while talking up other QB's with the exact same measurements like Carr and dude from ESU and citing those measurements as strengths or areas of no concern for those players. On game tape he was the most consistent IMO and all the analysts for NFLN for game changers that were saying he did the best calling out plays and protections quickly and efficiently breaking down the play. Time will only tell with any of these players as it's all just an extensive guessing game.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Round 1

I realize that for people wanting to trade down that the QB's going in the first round was a bit of a gut punch. However in terms of giving the Redskins the players they want and need at 34 I thought that the first round was ideal.

I was a bit conflicted by the the Ja'Wuan James [OT Tenn] pick at 19 to the Dolphins. On one hand I was estatic that they reached as far back as they did for a player increasing the potential of a guy like Morgan Moses falling to us. On the other hand I was scared s'less that it would spark a run on tackles.

ATM I'm really hoping that Houston wants OLB or DT more than a Tackle. However what a mind f it would be if the Texans picked Derek Carr.

In regards to Carr though I'm rooting for him but OH that spelling ticks me off. Can't be Derick NOOOOOOOOOOOOO has to be Derek!!!! On top of that the Dads name is Rodger. Its a miracle David Carr wasn't something like Daviide Carror maybe Daved Carr. Oh and look at the freaking last name Carr, can't be Car nooooooooooo has to be CARR with 2 FING R'S.

AND NO I AM NOT OVERREACTING> FU for suggesting that. Why don't you and your friends MARKUS, LARYN and CHRYS go talk about how AWESOME alternate name spellings are. Then maybe later you can meet up with Erik, Aimee (2 E's? REALLY?!?!!), and Brenden.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

*kicks over trash can*

Late round sleeper at safety- osu Christian Bryant. Got hurt early in 2013.

Some say houston but I heard they r getting mallett from NE so idk who would have taken him. Viks did the same with Ponder reaching and it failed. Guess we'll see

Big difference between moving up to a top ten pick and the last pick of the first round especially in the cost to make a move so I don't see them being in the same category. Even if it wound up not being Houston, it could have been Tampa picking before Minnesota had a chance again or maybe even Arizona moving up. We'll never know now, but even if not a great QB I think he'll be solid. Won't hurt having the best RB in the game behind you to hand the ball off to either. I think Bortles will be the new Ponder minus the move up, but he's most definitely a reach especially for a team with absolutely no offensive weapons.
