I will add, if KC and the offense puts up 24+ points (geez I'm easy to please) against a quality opponent like GB, then I will lose the last shred of skepticism. I have no doubt that the next draft will add talent, and I expect it will add it at the right places. I also believe that we will make good choices with respect to all the returning players, including KC. All of that will lead to a better team next year. Here are our last 4 opponents, (Total D rank, opponent, passing D rank) 14 Chi 4 19 Buf 19 30 Phi 28 17 Dal 5 Here is our path to the SB (+ Seattle) 15 GB 6 6 Car 11 5 Arz 8 2 Sea 2 Dallas didn't play us like a top 5 passing D(shocked me to see that), and Chicago we won by the Skins of our teeth. IF KC's progression is real, then these next 2-4 games will bear it out, if not, then 1 and out will will provide fodder for the summer |

Re: Cousins has arrived
I think what jumps out the most over the last month was the aggressiveness in the play-calling. I really think the Gruden & McVay might have done some reconsidering after that loss to Dallas where it looked like their game plan was to simply outlast a mediocre opponent.
Contrast that to how we played in the 2nd game, where it was go out and attack and score as much as you can, as early as you can. I know Sean Lee was missing from the game, but it's not like it was the running game that made any kind of difference early in that anyway which is where Lee shines the most. It really makes you wonder how different this offense could have possibly looked early in the season if Cousins had a full camp taking 1st team reps. There is no way we lose that home opener to Miami in that fashion. |

2 people I talk to on the team have told me that the offense has become more aggressive because Kirk has been asking for it. Kirk actually has progressed quicker then the coaches thought he would. After the first Dallas game, they started giving Kirk demand of audibles at the line as well. Before he wasn't able to change the play unless it was one of the called plays in the huddle (They usually call 2 plays). Now, he's basically been given full reigns of the offense because he's been so comfortable running it. I honestly think this will be the direction the offense goes. More spread and 5WR sets and taking advantage of mismatches with our playmakers. Similar to New England. This is not a guy who is having a "flash" year. That is why you saw reports of the Redskins organization wanting to lock Kirk up before the Dallas game. They have seen his progression and ability, so they are ready to commit.

Re: Cousins has arrived
Cousins has definitly arrived and what I'm looking forward to the most is having a starting QB that will be around a few years. instead of wondering from year to year who its going to be. We haven't had QB stability since the Theisman days

Id love to see some five wr sets! In all fairness to Griffs "flash" year (which it was in retrospect), im sure that the team as well as everyone of us thought he would be the man for years to come. Hell it was not until pre-season of this year (over two years later) that it became obvious he was not the guy. On top of that Kirk became the man during his 4th year in the league. We really have no choice at this point but to lock him up. Luckily for the team and the fans the choice is obvious. |

Kirk is getting a whole lot of good national publicity.. I just hope he doesn't shit the bed Sunday. I would hate for the douters to start popping there heads out again.

I think we've had a poor team for so long that we keep waiting for something bad to happen. After an amazing season by Kirk and a completely unexpected 9-7 record culminating in a playoff berth, we're playing with house money, dude! It's all good! As for the doubters, they're just ignorant, so why care what they think?

Re: Cousins has arrived
That would be old Redskin style of course. I think a LOT of us here have that deep down gnawing feeling that the Skins won't show up. Or KC will have a crazy bad day. Punch doesn't know how much I hope his hyper positive attitude turns out to be the right one!!!

Re: Cousins has arrived
Not sure I understand what you mean. I just read the article, found it very interesting. But not sure I see the connection to that and the mistake kneel down in Philly.
