Not this mix and match crap where Zorn isn't even monitoring or managing the defensive players. The mix and match coaching ranks is an atrocity!...effing ridiculous that it is even considered and then executed on an NFL team.

Re: Now What??
We're deep enough on the defense so that there should be options for a good coordiator to bench the non-contributors.
You pretty much have to take the offense at face value. You have a QB who can get the ball down the field for yards, but has only 3 TD passes in 3 weeks. The team only has one rushing TD in that timeframe, so it's not like if Campbell is just getting a poor proportion of the team's TD production. He actually has 75% of it.

I'd just move Orakpo to RE at this point. I like Carter, and I think he's a good player, but if you need to bring him off the bench to have your best talent on the field, so be it. Daniels and Golston aren't helping right now. The secondary may or may not be able to match up with anybody the whole year, but we don't have to let people take 8:00 minutes to drive down the field. We can try some cover two shell to take some pressure off of the corners, or you can go for broke and play cover zero with the corners having deep responsibilty. Cover one and three just don't seem to work for this personnel. Man has been a little bit better, but we can either man-blitz, or play tighter underneath coverage. Sure, we might give up more points, but the offense needs to get on the field more than three times a half. If we're really not a good defense, let's not keep delaying the inevitable.

Re: Now What??
After getting eviscerated by the NBC Sunday night crew, Peter King says Zorn is not on the hotseat- they'd have to find three coaches to fill his three positions (Head and QB coach/playcaller).
Rodney Harrison said he doesn't understand what the Skins see in JC. Dungy doesn't put it all on JC, but thinks it's definitely a systemic issue within the organization. Patrick called us a fantasy team. Par for the course... |

Re: Now What??
I'm letting my emotions sidetrack my common sense...everyone has to be held accountable as someone said, and I agree with that. But Vinnie C. is part of the problem, Dan Snyder is part of the problem, and so is the entire coaching staff. There are no easy solutions to this mess.

Re: Now What??
I still think the D is the strength of our team. Look at the first 2 weeks if the O scores 20-25 points and keeps the d off the field so much we are 3-0

Our D would play much better if the opposing team was behind for once and had to be one-dimensional in order to pass their way back into the game. It's like when Collins came in a few years ago and started moving the Offense up and down the field. The O line blocked better, the Receivers played better, the RBs ran better and the Defense played better. And yes, I'm advocating a change at the QB position. Campbell's stats are fine, but he is paid to put points on the board and win games. Time for a change.

Re: Now What??
I think Zorn is gone by noon tomorrow. Whoever we get, I hope they are an absolute asshole, who instills some discipline and work ethic in this group of underachievers.

Re: Now What??
Out of all the HC's mentions I only see a couple that fit your requirements....Cowher and Gruden. Gruden definitly knows the WCO not sure about Cowher.

Re: Now What??
Pretty simple if you ask me. Zorn has demonstrated repeatedly that he is not head coach material.
Case and point for the jackasses that dispute every word I type. Zorn, undisputedly and singlehandedly, cost us 7 points today. We lost by 5 to the worst franchise in the NFL. Nice knowing ya... Learn how to playcall and head coach on someone elses time... Btw. Snyder, you are an idiot too. You hired a quarterback coach with no playcalling or head coaching experience to run what used to be one of the best franchises in the league. Go sue some more grandmothers you 5 4 piece of shit. There, I feel slightly better. |
