Alex Smith is very inefficient at reading defenses and getting rid of the ball quickly whenever he's blitzed. Clausen on the other hand, the kid is money when it comes making quick decisions whenever he's under pressure, and he's deadly accurate on short, medium, and deep range passes. He's also has the deep-out patterns mastered.

He's going to be our QB, everyone should just start getting use to it. However, I like it that our base isn't going gaga over him, that way when he comes to Washington he'll have to earn the respect of his team and the fanbase.

Vinnie (Look-inna-my-eyes) Cerrato has a new title: Count!

Count Look-inna-my-eyes!

He's in the Clausen corner.

As if this is any news, and of any real value.

Vinny's not a bad talent evaluator. The thing is that he's horrible at putting a team together. Everything from a culture that overpayed outsiders, failed to hold players accountable, and a coaching staff that was hand tied by players circumventing their authority. Then the propensity to overdraft skilled players it's no wonder this team was such a mess. It was a miracle that Gibbs was able to put together two winning seasons. However from a scout perspective I feel Cerrato is decent.

Physically smaller Phillip Rivers, with a slightly stronger arm.

Clausen will be there for his Pro Day, but won't be working out

He's waiting till Apr 9th and will be working with Golden Tate

this kind of reminds me of when everyone was all over Ricky Williams jock then come draft day Indy picked Edge over RW. Maybe the Rams are in love with Clausen.

Vinny Cerrato loves a ND qb? Unbelievable. He gushes anytime he speaks of anything ND. Maybe we need to run the other way.

Kidding of course. Well, kind of kidding.

Re: Jimmy Clausen has met with the Redskins

If Cleaveland were dumb enough to trade up to get clausen, then either Suh or McCoy would fall to us at 4 and we'd have multiple teams calling us with offers to trade up to our pick. IMO that would be a great scenario for us.

Re: Jimmy Clausen has met with the Redskins

I'd also like to point out that the Redskins apparent lack of interest in Clausen could easily be a smoke screen. I think someone else on this forum brought this up but no one knew the Bronco's were looking at Cutler. Heck they didn't even spend one of their 30 pre draft visits on him if I heard correctly. So just remember Clausen could easily be a Redskin with the 4th pick. Then again this front office has played things close to the vest and a close to the vest pick would be an offensive lineman.

Such a smokescreen would only be reasonable if there was legitmate belief that he could be gone by your pick. This is a guy who had toe surgery in January, hasn't run or thrown for anyone since, and probably won't do much before the draft. I can't imagine going in on Clausen on blind faith that everything that was "seen" on tape will translate.

I mean, we are going to personally interview him like any other suitor would, but I think the percieved lack of interest is just that -- a lack of interest.

Thats also a possibility to. Maybe the lack of interest is just that, but it wouldn't surprise me if we did draft him. This front office has just been throwing curve balls and sliders left and right. The only thing I've noticed as I've said before is most of the choices they've made are conservative.

I was thinking the same thing. Such a smokescreen could be used to:
a) discourage QB-hungry others from trading up ahead of us or
b) increasing leverage to check out trade down offers, just in case

The Rams can let everyone know what they are thinking. We, at #4, would be fools to give anything away, regardless of what our thinking is.

yeah man, i would be all for that. 4th overall would be worth a move down into the middle of the first and another pick early in the 2nd. that would be sweet.
