Titus Young to be waived by St. Louis Rams - NFL.com

Holy crap. This a all-time record? Shortest tenure on a team by a guy claimed off waivers?

Quote:
The Rams were the only team to put in a waiver claim after the initial release. This is not a good sign for the player that proclaimed he's better than Calvin Johnson. Sources told The Shadow League's Rob Parker that Young might not play again. If true, that's an extreme waste of talent. So much for learning from the Detroit experience.

RG making 30 mil is laughable. I can't believe the owners pay him that kind of money.

Re: Around the NFL Off - Season style.

Not that im a fan Goodell, I dont agree with a fair amount of his decisions. As they are all based on "the consumer wont leave so we dont need to take them into account when we make our decisions". (Sadly he is right though, I dont like it but dont see myself not watching football anytime soon, but arrogance could possibly come back to haunt him)

Feelings of Goodell and/or the direction of the NFL aside. How much do you think someone in the real world overseeing a 9 bil per year enterprise (and by most accounts, still growing) with 33 separate entities to oversee deserves to make?

Throw in that he technically has 32 bosses to keep happy and the red tape/headaches that brings to the table.

Dallas may make a run at freeney, it wouldn't surprise me.

Wonder If we'll look at woodson? Or maybe a Patrick Chung?

I would like it if we can get Woodson and draft a Safety with our 2nd round pick like Phillip Thomas or Baccari Rambo and help mentor him for a year or two.

At 20 mil over the cap? They going to have to make some major moves to have a chance to pull that off.

Why don't they focus on signing Spencer instead of a Freeney. Also he plays re and they already have a good one in Ware. Making a play for a guy like that is why I am so glad Jerry j is still in charge.

I don't think the numbers matter until the day the free agency starts. Between cuts and restructures the cowboys certainly could get Freeneyif JJ wants him and he wants to go there. They would just end up with more dead cap in the future.

Yeah a larger field is just stupid. It's been the same for years now and I really hope they don't change it to the cfl style. Honestly if it comes down to games annually being like 48-40 I won't watch much anymore. It's really y I'm not a huge college fan and I live in Oklahoma where OU is everything.. college for the most part has NO. Defense at all and it's just boring. It's like playing Madden on rookie. No challenge

The league is all about ratings and points being scored is all they care about. The rules are too one sided.

He made the rule change of kicking off from the 35 as opposed to the 30, causing way less kick returns.

He wants to widen the field.

He has eliminate touchdown celebrations that go 'over the top'.

He wants to make football an 18 game season (which contradicts the whole safety idea of his because he's making his players getting contacted more than less)

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head, but like I said and will stress again, he has fined players for RIDICULOUS things.
-Ryan Clark $5,000 for eyeblack of 21 in honor of Sean Taylor when he died
- Frank Gore $10,000 for not having high enough socks
- Plaxico Burress $5,000 for toss a football into the stands
- Antonio Brown fined $10,000 for running backwards while scoring a TD
- Urlacher fined $100,000 for wearing a vitamin water hat at super bowl media day
- Sheldon Brown fined $10,000 for wearing a Jason Mask during pregame/run out of the tunnel introductions

------
Your second question why is Goodell over paid?

Well for starters, the NBA commission makes an ESPN reported $15-16 million/year. The MLBs commissioner makes $18 million per year. Goodell makes $29+ million/year. He should be making around what these other guys make. Baseball and Basketball have more games, yes. But one major difference between football and the other two sports is that the other two sports are more popular worldwide. And as for in this country and popularity, football is the most popular sport, but not enough to be a clear cut popularity choice over the other two sports. Its not like Goodell is doing a lot more than the other guys too. He's doing just as much as Selieg and Stern (and Bettman).

All sport commissioners are overpaid. These are guys who should be making $5 million annually max. If the president of the US is $400,000 a year, and Roger Goodell is making almost $30 million a year, America, we've got a problem.

I really don't need any more stats or facts about "Why do you think Goodell is overpaid?" Maybe I should be asking you, "Why do you think Goodell is worth a ridiculous sum of money?"
I literally agree with this entire post
