More pressure here, bigger market, and as we've seen the potential for crazy ass drama.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)

Who cares, the team is going to still suck!!!!!! The present roster is medicore, and will take 3 seasons to remedy that, and that is if the front office has a solid plan that it can actually get done in terms of getting the pieces in place. The other big issue is that this whole debacle proves and what the Marty debacle proved is that you can't have a strong willed coach work with Snyder or Danny boy will undermine him or just fire his ass. Danny helped create the monster diva in RG III, and any new coach is going to have to kiss RG IIIs ass. Do you think Bill Cowher would want to be a part of this organization knowing full well of how it is run? I don't want a college coach, just because he coached our diva in a college system in a conference that is known for absolutely NO DEFENSE. Besides we had that experiment with Spurrier and Danny "Awful", another Heisman winner. Personally, I do like John Gruden, but I don't think he would want to work for Snyder unless The Danny put up a ton of cash, and even then I think he will pass. He is making tons of $$$$$$$$$ just BSing about football and making commericals. Why put yourself in the middle of a firestorm? I am thinking we will have another Zorn type, a young assistant that will go for it, just to at least have on his resume he was a HC, but I think the smarter ones will not bite. Zorn will never ever be a HC in the NFL ever again because of the disaster he had in DC. The smarter ones will bide their time and go to a team they can win with and have a decent career. I just don't see this farce getting any better. I still think Jerry Jones and Snyder are geniuses and are just laughing at us little people for actually caring about this shit.

Pro football is all about the $$$$$$$$$$$, nothing more, nothing less. Watching last year's playoffs and the Super Bowl totally confirmed my long held suspicions that it was just about the money, and fixed as well, and not just by the zebras.

I do think Snyder is smarter than Jones in that he stays quiet for the most part, thus doesn't say a lot of dumb things like Jones, but he likes his drama, because he knows it sells tickets and gives him free advertising. The thing is I think the charade will get old, and maybe the emphasis will be on winning again. This stupid obsession with getting teams in Europe is fantasy at best. FIFA games are not well attended as NFL games, as Europeans need every dime they have to survive anymore.

I think everyone needs every last dime in order to survive in today's world, whether you are European, American, or Martian.

The stadium was half empty. If the Skins didn't play Dallas, it would be half empty again next weekend.

Most owners only care about winning because it makes them money. There concern for winning games is distant second to making money. At least for the majority of owners.

RG3 isn't a proven Franchise QB yet. The skins have the potential of having a Franchise QB, but there is also the potential he is a bust as well at this point.

Shanahan has done well in making sure the Skins are worst than when he got here. Plus he also makes Snyder seem like an owner that involves himself too much. Similar to why Dallas cannot get the coaches they want.

I would comment if I could figure out what I'm commenting on.

No doubt on all of those things Matty but when you think about nfl HC personalities...very high self confidence to outright overconfidence, big personalities, swagger...you'd think a lot of guys would relish the challenge and see the pot of gold on the other side.

And we have talent. I don't care what so many fans say, this team has legit talent at key positions. QB, RB, fb, LT, TE, and a solid wr on offense. And most of the defense is in place IMO. You give a guy like Lovie smith or Gregg Williams this defense (along with a few $ to fill in gaps) and it will be above average next year.

As to the retread vs new HC debate, seems like most successful HCs have needed some practice. Belichick was a retread in New England for instance. I'm not against a new HC coming from college or coordinator in the NFL. Am saying you want high football intelligence and the ability to lead/motivate players, those are the keys. If it's a guy who's had some HC experience, maybe in a subpar situation, I take him over the newbie. Just me.

One coach that I really like but is not available is Mike McCoy. I think he's doing a great job in SD.

There is that risk right this second, but with the right hire, it's a non-issue. Griffin is pretty established already.

What Philip Rivers is doing this year is a pretty good look at what Griffin can do as soon as next year. Rivers is still sloppy on some quarterbacking nuances, but he's really good at moving the ball and putting points on the board. And Mike McCoy types are available every year. Nothing special, just good, well organized coaching.

I think its going to take 3 years to actually be in Super bowl contention. In my opinion Eagles aren't actually in super bowl contention, they just happen to play in what I think is the worst division in football. It took Seattle and other "project" teams about 3 years to be in the super bowl picture. This team needs a lot of upgrades not to be just a wildcard or playoff team like the Bengals, but an actual super bowl contender. I think that will take around 3 years.
