The other thing that is unfair is if you are going call defense players for leading with the crown of their helmet, you have to call the offensive player as well. LeSean MCCoy's run that he hurt himself on, he put his head down and he initiated the contact. He was trying to punish the ball carrier.
Joe Buck basically called every tackle on Sunday "helmet to helmet" Man, if that wasn't annoying

Yup. I feel like he's trying to endorse the league's effort to make the game safer on every tackle. Defenses are basically screwed nowadays, they'll call anything if it even looks remotely rough. There's basically a personal foul call for every type of big hit out there. Any wideouts/ST returners that get laid out can expect a personal foul for hitting a defenseless receiver. Any running back that initiates h2h contact will get a personal foul call for a defender going h2h. And any qb that gets hit can expect a personal foul for roughing the qb.

The only thing Goodell did wrong with the Ray Rice thing was to give him a lenient suspension, which is a major mistake, but that's basically it. People in the Ravens organization did more damage and should be held accountable, even more than Goodell IMO.

Very true, lets say he would have given him an 8 game suspension would their even been an issue. IMO just think the banging he gave NO was a little much.

The NO thing was directly affecting games though. Maybe that is why he was stiff with them.

Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti says ESPN Ray Rice report manufactured by Rice's camp - ESPN

ESPN's response to the Ravens press conference. Smoot, any thoughts about this?

I would believe the Ravens if they hadn't done all these PR moves to make Ray look like a nice guy (Janay's apology tweeted by the Ravens, Rice's wedding featured in the Ravens website, etc., etc.). Hard to believe them after doing all of this.

No idea who they talked to, but pretty apparent Bisciotti is just trying to CYA

Re: Around the NFL: Week 3

Ok, first I know power rankings are media fodder.
second, i know that something that rarely meets actual reality, probably sometimes they kinda line up if you look at it more in tier groups then actual placement.

BUT, the NFL site has us at 26, and Philly at 2, and Dallas and the NYG at 20 and 21. I struggle to see us as the 26th worst team in the league. smh

I think any 1-2 team could basically fall between the high 20's and high teens.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/bill-s...153400695.html

Im not a Bill Simmons fan but I did like this point
"The best point that a lot of people have made about this is this is exactly why he fined and suspended Sean Payton for a season [for Bountygate]. Sean Payton was like, 'I didn't know.' [Goodell] was like, 'Well ignorance [is not an excuse]' and suspended him for a year. This is the same exact situation and it's worse, because he knew and he's a liar."
