That D call is mind blowing.

On top of everyone playing way to far back from the sticks.

Horrible play call, horrible execution by all.
Good take, thanks !

Really thought with an offseason of actual practices and camps JDR would have had this unit much improved. They seemed to be picking right up from where they left off against TB.

Using #NextGenStats via the #nflverse, here's a look at running backs and their average time to the line of scrimmage in week 1.

Antonio Gibson is getting to the LOS in under 2.5 seconds.

On those inside run plays, AG did look decisive hitting holes, getting to the second level quickly.

inside run game was a pleasant surprise.

-------------

stat - I want to see the rank of QBs who got the ball out the quickest last week. I imagine our opponents QB will rank pretty high each week.

Minus the fumbles, Gibson looked great Sunday. Hopefully the fumbles were just a 1 game fluke. Look forward to seeing against NYG.

Gibson looked winded after the one long drive. It's on Turner to give him a break. Could have put Patterson in that series.

Yeah, you can find away to give Patterson 5-10 carries a game. I want to see him too.

Gibson made me a believer Sunday. Fumble was tough and a runner is getting hit so they dont have too much say so .. but maybe try to keep your feet on the ground in the shadow of your own endzone. Stay low. Keep your limbs tucked in as much as possible. Maybe even do that double arm cross thing Portis used to do in those situations. Probably limits a runners agility but increases ball security.

I would love to know what Bostic was thinking (actually I probably wouldn't)

And why McCain backed up so much.

Bostic just has awful vision, awareness, and feel from where he is on the field.
Sometimes he just stares at QB eyes and ends up being dragged way out of his zone without looking at the wide open guys in his zone... and sometimes he just stares at one guy and follows him with no awareness of where other guys could be...

#55 isn't much better. CH may be fast but he can not cover at all. I can't imagine what Brady, Mahomes Dak and so on are going to do to this defense.

Holcomb is not a great covering LB, but Bostic just has zero clue what the F he's doing out there. Holcomb is good against the run and average in coverage, Bostic is average against the run and embarrassing in coverage.

Re: Week 1 - Post-game Thread

Omagad. I'm watching the All 22 of the chargers game. I'm still in the 1st quarter. That's now 2 punt returns in a row where Apke whiffs on blocks twice in the same play. I'll do a gif later (cuz maybe there's more to come), but I'm fuming. I don't want to hear one more word about him being this elite special teamer. f him. And f Rivera too on this one, cutting Moreland was a stupid mistake. Keeping Apke is a Jay Gruden like continuous mistake. And f those fake ass smart armchairs gm saying we don't understand how important special teams are and how good Apke is at it, I've had enough of those... HE SUCKS. PERIOD.
