Re: It's not Brunell's fault!

I have a question. I just read that Brunell is not doing well in Saunders system in terms of reading the defenses fast enough meaning he ends up dropping down to the short passes far to often. If we pull Brunell and put in Campbell is that same problem going to be resolved? I don't think putting a rookie in is going to fix this problem of not reading the defenses fast enough.

old dog new tricks vs new dog new tricks.

nobody expects campbell to come in and lob 14 TDs a game, and they'll have more patience with a rookie, because there's a lot more hope he can get better with experience. brunell looks for the rush, campbell doesn't. campbell is also very willing to throw deep... my guess is we'll see more ints, but 7-9 games experience to show problems and an offseason to correct them would be super nice for starting next year on a good note.

Is he really? How do we know? Just by some snaps during a few preseason games where the "playcalling was very vanilla?"

I just don't see where he's proven to be so willing to throw down the field.

B. Good Point.
C. You can't intimidate the Raiders. You beat the Raiders while they attempt to intimidate you.
D. Without getting into how the nature of playcalling disallows a coach to "call a deep play", you've already made this point in A.
E. I'd say he moves quite well for a 37 year old. If your point is that he's old, good work.
F. I don't think so. I believe in the "it" factor, or QB intangibles. I don't think you EVER lose it, but its a subjective topic, so you can't prove that.
G. Well, Elway was the oldest player ever to win a SB at age 37, so you really have me there! But 4 years ago Rich Gannon played in the Super Bowl at age 37, and was the league MVP that year. So if you are saying old QBs can't play, that's quite easily disprovable.
H. Anyone who is frusterated at the team.

Welcome to the boards.
Try watching the games sober. Your blinded buddy. I know whenever somebody is wearing the burgandy and gold some of you guys devolope a serious man crushes but the bottom line is MARK BRUNELL IS WASHED UP. I would love to have a 37yr old Rich Gannon as our QB. A 37yr Brunell cannot carry a 37yr Rich Gannons jock!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah the team as a whole sucks MB is not the only problem. But he is a SERIOUS PROBLEM. If he was a horse he would be paying a visit to good ol elmers glue factor.
