Re: Landry is now a bust!
People generally have an over-inflated view of other team's players, and are overly critical of our own guys. I think this is definitely the case with Landry. Someone recently said he's not even a top 30 safety? I mean, really? I would love to hear the list of 30 guys who are better than him.

I wasn't talking about you, but yeah I'd say he's better than middle of the pack.

Re: Landry is now a bust!
I would say that list is very subjective.

Re: Landry is now a bust!
Seriously, there are 2 sets of teammates on that list. In addition, Darren Sharper may get a lot of picks and find the end zone, but he gets beat about as often as Landry.
I remember before the Saints-Eagles game he said, "They'll try to run the post on Kolb's first play and we'll be ready for it." Then, I'm watching Red Zone and sure enough the first play is the post and guess who's chasing the play down because he bit on a double move? None other than Darren Sharper, who said they wouldn't be fooled. |

Re: Landry is now a bust!
The main problem with Landry, which I'm sure has been said many times now is he doesn't play his natural position.
If Blache would stop trying to reinvent the wheel with our players on defense, they might be a lot better. Playing Jason Taylor on the opposite side of where he's played for 11 years Orakpo at LB when we all know he's a true DE Landry as FS when he's a SS

Re: Landry is now a bust!
People need to get off Landry's balls...he's a baller for sure though there is room for improvement. Ryan Clark is better than him? GTFOOH.

The fact that he showboats so much is the icing on the cake. He can't be allowed to actually diagnose an NFL play. Put him at SS and let him just attack. |

Re: Landry is now a bust!
So any chance we can take a CB and convert him to a FS (kinda like what we wanted to do with Springs last year)?

Re: Landry is now a bust!
QBs used to cringe when they see him slip through the crease at full speed... LOL!!!

Re: Landry is now a bust!
Not directly related to Landry, but an interesting read on Tackling in the NFL.
NFL: Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson is among the many coaches, players and GMs who lament -- or in AD's case celebrate -- the lost art of tackling - ESPN |
