Re: WP: Haynesworth will skip minicamp, wants trade
Well exactly. My point being that you have a guy like Kedric Golston, for example, who has to work his ass of (and does) to be respectable on the field and make the occasional big play. Really KG is on the field through a bit of talent but really moreso sheer determination and pride. And he knows that he has to work hard to be on an NFL field.
But then you have a guy like Haynesworth who can be, and has shown to be, so dominating when he's on the field and committed. And it's like he doesn't even recognize or appreciate how good he is, and how consistently great he could be.

Re: WP: Haynesworth will skip minicamp, wants trade
Maybe some of you cap guys can tell me why didn't they just cut his fat ass before he took the 20 mil in April? There is no cap so why not just cut our losses since we didn't give up anything to get him.

The Shanahan ultimatum is a bit confusing. When he offered to grant Haynesworth his freedom in order to get that money back, he's actually asking Haynesworth to trade in 50(ish)% of his guaranteed money to buy his own freedom...almost exactly like Lavar did, but on a much larger scale. It was more like a: "hey, you're going to be a Redskin for the forseeable future and there's nothing you can do about it...unless you want to talk about giving back you $20 mil bonus." I mean, we can still release him, but then we owe him all of the money guaranteed in the contract through the first three years, which comes out to (I believe) $48 million ($32 of which has already been paid). If he breaches his own contract though, then we can start to go after a lot of that $32 million, piece by piece.

Re: WP: Haynesworth will skip minicamp, wants trade
It's not a cap issue. It's the precedent it would have set in cutting him. Plus he is a very valuable commodity, and if we keep him from playing against us, it's still a pyrrhic victory. Why let him go to Minnesota, for example, and get nothing for him because we cut him. We have his contract, so any other team has to come through us if they want him. Apparently no one did badly enough, because according MS his agent was given a free door to find a suitable trade partner up until he accepted that 21Million dollar check. Now suit up, or shut up. I would be just as happy to see him not play this year if he isn't wearing Burgundy and Gold.

Yea right....F*ck you Fat Al! You POS!
Report: Haynesworth will show up for training camp Posted by Mike Florio on June 16, 2010 2:46 PM ET Despite his absence from a mandatory minicamp, recalcitrant Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth reportedly will show up for training camp when it opens on July 29. If, of course, he's still on the team. The report comes from Chris Russell of 106.7 The Fan, who cites an unnamed NFL source. But Haynesworth won't be showing up because he's finally seen the light. Instead, Russell reports that Haynesworth hopes to avoid potential litigation with the team, which would have a better argument when it comes to trying to get money back from the player if he doesn't show up for training camp. As we've separately heard, Haynesworth's advisers believe that his only consequence for failing to show up for the mandatory minicamp is a fine in the neighborhood of $10,000. So if/when he shows up, he may be acting like another player from another NFC East team five years ago. We can only hope that Haynesworth won't eventually be doing shirtless sit-ups in his driveway.

I bet he couldn't even be able to do a single situp right now.

#1- T.O didn't refuse to show up, Reid told him to stay home as punishment. #2- It's my understanding AH can be fined $10,000 for each day he doesn't show up. Although $30,000 is chump change for not showing up at the 3 day mandatory camp when he was just given 21 mill April 1st. Why do people always try to lump T.O. into every bad apple category? I think people have well over stated T.O.'s being a cancer issue. |

Who really gives two shits about BO (Ya think Reid had good reason to tell him to stay home!), it was more about Fat POS Al exclude the last two sentences. And by the way he's been in the "bad apple category" everywhere he's been like FAT BOY well because he's been a F*ckin bad apple that happens to be unemployed for a reason.

You can always give back the money, Albert. You get what you want. The team gets what it wants.
However, I will say that the dude(s) who gave him some false promises to get him to sign the contract also deserve some blame.

We both took turns. I said it would be a circus if he showed up today, he didn't show up and it turns out to be an even bigger circus. Oh! the constant off-season drama that comes from Redskin Park......amazing, simply amazing.

Re: WP: Haynesworth will skip minicamp, wants trade
I'm with you bro ! I gave so many people shit about this guy and he goes and does this. Don't cut him, don't trade him. Keep him, let his ass sit and be miserable until he gets with the program. If not, then you basically ended this pricks career after sitting on the bench for 4 years.
