I am really happy right now (emphasis on the right now) with the Brown trade. He is saying all the right things, doing all the right things...let's hope he producse on the field.

Re: Report: Redskins Have Traded for Jammal Brown

In a side note; I re-watched the BCS National Championship game between Florida and Oklahoma, with Trent Williams as a Junior RT. I watched every single snap that he played, and I got to say that he was a dominate mauler the whole game. I'd say maybe 3-5 snaps he got sort of lazy on his blocking. And he only missed 3 snaps the whole game due to exhaustion from OU hurry up offense.

He'll be a great player for us at tackle for sure.

Can anyone give me an update on how Jamaal has played this year. The general consensus has been that he stunk at the beginning of the year but as the year has gone on I've heard that he's played better and better.

Redskins Insider - Healthy Jammal Brown: 'I'm becoming my old self'

Seems like he's getting better and we can expect to see more from him next season.

No idea how I missed that, but it's still a pretty detailed response. Either way it's look like we have our bookends and with as much as 50 million in cap space we can afford to sign Brown to a long term contract.

Re: Report: Redskins Have Traded for Jammal Brown

Looking at the season as a whole, Jamaal Brown cannot get a grade above "C-minus". He has improved a bit since about Thanksgiving but this guy used to play at the Pro Bowl level and he is now playing at the level of a guy who hopes to become a journeyman.

If he continues to recover from his injuries and his health allows him to raise his level of play significantly next year, he will have been worth a mid round draft pick.

If this is as good as it gets, the trade was a bad one.

Wait until next August/September to make a judgment here. Signing him to a long term deal to give you "bookends" on the OL, is premature.
