If they both go down, we are not going any where this year. That would be a nightmare. I am scared to see Rex for any amount of game action other than a quarter or to.

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
If anyone thinks Rex Grossman is the answer at back-up, I question their judgement. He may do ok for a short period of time, beyond that he'd be suspect.

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
I'm starting to love the idea of a no name receiving corps. Maybe we'll see the corps be Moss, Galloway, Fuery, Hodge, Armstrong, and Austin. Notice that theres two names missing that are usually there. One guy that might end up being a steal is a guy named Hodge. Here's his draft report.

This tweet goes out to Smootsmack
CoachA12 Wow. RT @PewterReport: We are hearing the Bucs will be releasing QB Jevan Snead to make room for Gerald McCoy. Stay tuned.

This is why the Bucs are stupid. Now get Colt out of there and sign Snead!

On a side note it's pretty bad that I have no idea who this Hodge guy is Dirtbag. And why haven't we heard anything about him being solid at the minimum? I'd love for a no-name to step up and be a consistent player for us but I'm not hopping on the bandwagon for this guy just yet. |

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Anyone else noticing how all the players that Shanahan and Allen have brought in seem to be doing pretty well -- Galloway, Grossman, Williams (Trent and Roydell), Larry Johnson, McNabb, Austin etc. -- but the guys who are struggling a little bit -- Haynesworth, Thomas, Kelly, Brennan -- are all holdovers from the Zorn/Cerrato regime?
Maybe I'm reading a little too much into it and it's only the third day of camp but it's good to know these new guys are making good impressions. HTTR

Still either way, in spite of Shanahan's ego you have to admire his willingness to have an actual competition. Doesn't matter where you were drafted or for the most part how much money you make. The best players will play. One thing though that kind of worries me is I haven't heard much about Galloway on the field. Austin, Armstrong, Furry, and Williams have all drawn praise for at least one on field play yet the only thing I hear about Galloway is that he's working with the first team.

Both Thomas and Kelly have had their problems with staying healthy, therby being unproductive as a result. It will be interesting to see if one or both of them will be sacrificed in exchange for a longtime veteran who in the last two years has not been anymore productive than they have. Beyond catching passes, Galloway has limited value to the team because he does not do anything else. Therefore, if his production (or lack thereof) continues it's decline, he's of lesser value.

We still have a couple of holdovers on O that will be big time players in the new offense as well. Cooley, Davis, Portis, Moss, Sellers, and Dockery. I know I am taking a defensive position but it is more to just remind you that we still have some players left from the last era we like and enjoy rooting for. HAIL!

My point was that, it's good to hear that all the new guys (or at least the vast majority) have had some really nice accolade to their name in this very young training camp but the guys who have been having problems seem to be of the guys that were here already. Grain of Salt: Tomorrow is day 4 of training camp

I like hearing all of the new guys playing well to. The FO hopefully hit on some of the new vets and rookies, and this is an abosolute must if the Redskins are going to be a good team this year.
