Re: All things offseason discussion part II
Just bone headed things in general. Wasn't comparing their actions or weighing them out.

Yeah I'm not seeing it either. Plenty of folks would have been duped in the same spot as Williams. Not sure how that makes him a DB. |

Re: All things offseason discussion part II
Has anyone written more pointless drivel on a subject than John Keim has about the Redskins?

I tend to find the drivel comes from Reid, Jenkins, and this f*ckface antonym Wise.

If I were 10 years younger, I'd use an acronym to show that I laughed out loud at your post.
I agree, Keim is the best beat writer we've got. I appreciate his detail and comments on technique. His post-game stuff is the best around for analyzing what went down.

Not sure there's anyone better than Keim covering the team.

Re: All things offseason discussion part II
Ok. Ok. I used some hyperbole. Perhaps the sheer volume of content makes for a lot of repetitious analysis and I think his opinions are more or less vanilla, which is the name of the game to a certain extent when you're a beat reporter. I also practically fall asleep when reading about a third of his posts, but that's the consequence of following the NFL during the dead season. No one can hold a candle to the unreadable pablum that Jason Reid produces. He is the least edifying columnist in sports history.
I guess I just long for the days of old journalism when a column for a major newspaper was well written and insightful nine times out of ten. I would much rather read one article every couple weeks by someone like Boswell or the Kornheiser or Wilbon of old than ten daily items of bland schlock that is typically found on Bubba's. |

Re: All things offseason discussion part II
They get paid to write... unfortunately the offseason has a lot of down time.
Keim really shines once training camp rolls around. I think most writers this time of year have to dig deep to come up with regular content and more often than not it's just re-hashing the same stuff. |

Re: All things offseason discussion part II
At least to me the Skins are extremely lucky to have Keim as a beat writer. I think about all the years where we would get tons of baseless speculation and little analysis in regards to what was actually happening on the field. In fact it felt like the only time we would get any analysis would come at the hands of number guys like football outsiders that even at times they did offer good content really wouldn't break down exactly how OT X got the ratings he was assigned.
Keim does what very few reporters do and what more really should do, in that he breaks down and explaind what is happening on the field and combines it with info such as perceptions from scouts and coaching staffs. Not to mention he frequently explains strategies and tendencies of both our coaches and those of upcoming opponents. Washington Redskins now have more questions at safety - ESPN Quote:
