Terry’s interview

I figure there will either be a short holdout or this will get ugly and Terry gets traded.

Im just confused about what is going to change between now and camp starting. Id imagine we are aware of what he is asking for right? It is either yes or no….
Is one side bluffing??

According to Terry, no discussions in a month. Time to get talking. The team can structure the contract; so Terry gets paid but it also makes it easier for us to move on from him, if needed in a couple of years.

Terry just had his best year with a rookie qb. I can’t see that dropping off, just because he turns 30.

Lot of organization is on vacation right now. They probably have a solid offer in mind, just a matter of time.

My call gonna be 30.5-31.5 per

If there is a sticking point ( and I agree that the FO just is not in a hurry) it probably is over length of contract. They don't want to be working out Terry's numbers when JD5's contract comes up.

My guess is that every contract written from this point forward will be evaluated in the light of JD5's extension.

That said I am also sure JD5's mom is watching how these negotiations are handled.

I dont see his production dropping off at all either, if had a good quarterback all these years he would be a first ballot hall of famer. I think the best is still to come.

Yeah those numbers sound about right Chico. I will continue to hold my breath.

The cap is going up every year. While you don’t know how much, you can average out; the average yearly increase.

To all the people on this board who say this isn't a big deal and will get done please read the following:

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/t...tract-dispute/

"A month after skipping the Commanders' mandatory minicamp, McLaurin also indicated he's prepared to extend his holdout, suggesting that "without any progressive discussions" related to a new deal, "it's kind of hard to see how I step on the field" for Washington."

My biggest concern in this is far off on the numbers they are. Like 18 million annually. If Terry gets greedy or Peters balks at his demands this may not get done. Frustrating.

I cannot imagine that they're off by $18M/yr, if that's what your note indicates. Most estimate that he's looking for ~$30M, and if we're only offering $12M, he should tell us to suck it. In fact, that number would be so insultingly low, it's hard to imagine we can get things on track. But I cannot imagine that's where the parties are here.

His contract this year is currently around 22 million. Chase is the highest paid at over 40 million yearly. This is the worst case scenario if he gets too greedy. Agree doubtful it does but a pushy agent can be highly influential. Just get it done. Will be interesting and highly monitored how this unfolds.

I doubt Terry is demanding $40M. I’d be stunned.

Or that the commanders are at 22 million .

My guess it's far more about structure and guarantee terms than actual value per year

we all love terry

the only issue with terry is his age and you got be careful not to strap yourself financial to a guy who most likely is on the down slope

it sucks
