Thanks to you DCfan60 and your fellow Cowboy fans. Your thoughts are most appreciated. I actually joined the CowboysZone message board to offer not only mine, but other 'Skins fans gratitude as well. Very, very classy and much appreciated.

Re: Sean Taylor has died...

As a Browns fan and a CCW instructor I think it is wrong that a person can not have a firearm in their house for protection, as in this case. It may have saved his life.

MY heart felt condolences to your fans and the family of Sean Taylor over this tragedy, a senseless killing. I fervently hope they catch who ever it was that did the shooting.

Thank you for your kind words. Speculation has it that since Sean had been convicted of a felony firearms charge, he was therefore prohibited from owning or carrying a firearm. I am a licensed CCW permit holder and seldom go anywhere without my firearm. My wife and I both were witness to a murder years ago in Maryland and it left an indelible mark on us both. However, just owning or having access to a firearm will never guarantee a persons safety without the proper training and experience.

I was at work when I learned about it, about 5 minutes away from clocking out. Then my boss came up to me and was like, Sean Taylor just died. At first I was kinda in shock, I was like, no way why you gotta play like that, you know? That shit ain't funny. I said that because he was a pretty big Redskins hater and I wouldn't put anything past him. But after I clocked out and I was driving home I put it on 980 and they were talking about it.

I just started tearing up while I was driving home and then as soon as I got home I started watching NFLN and looking at things online. I was still in shock for at least two days, my friends/coworkers kept talking and checking on me and I didn't want to talk to nobody and I was pretty depressed after that. The Youtube videos helped, and I got a little semblance of closure from watching his funeral. When I think about him, I always remember these words that one of the prominent speakers at his funeral said, and what he said was to celebrate his life and memories, and the things he taught us, instead of always thinking about how young he was and everything else he could've achieved.

That's pretty tough. I found out when I woke up for work and turned on the news. It was Fox 5 and as soon as it came on they said it. I remember how quiet everyone was on the train ride to work. Then when I got to work, my friends who are Skins fans we just sat in my room just sad. Not saying too much to eachother and then we started talking about what he had done, and what we as fans had lost. All we as Skins fans have are memories of who could've been the greatest safety to play the game. I feel for hisfamily who lost a son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and last but certainly not least a father.

RIP Sean. You will NEVER be forgotten.

Re: Sean Taylor has died...

Yes, it was a bittersweet day. My son had been born the day before he was shot. My wife called me from the hospital (I went home to catch up on a night of sleep after being up for about 36 hours) and told me he had been shot.

I held my son in the hospital and we watched his first Redskins game together, a close loss to the Bucs, without Sean.

For the reason of timing, I'll never forget when "that day" is coming up.

I don't think anyone wants to forget him, but something needs to be done with this thread. Archive it and link it to a Sean Taylor memorial page or something.

For the last couple of days since this thread has been bumped, I see it whenever I come to the Warpath and it turns my stomach. I find it hard to believe that I'm the only one that doesn't like to see the thread title every day.
