I like this move, because he knows this defense, our other OLB position is shaky, he's a fiery guy, we no longer have levi jones, he knows lou spanos, he maybe able to come here cheaply, and he can still rush the QB.

I like Porter on a one year deal, although OLB really isn't a position of need.

It seems like his position in the defense would be as a backup for Orakpo, but we could probably work some sort of rotation out that lets them both play at the same time.

Please don't sign Joey Porter, that dude does not belong in DC. I know he's got something left, but he might disrupt what little chemistry that's left on D.

I really don't see it happening under Shanahan's watch. I think Marty is the last coach we had who will have as much authoritarian discipline as Shanahan will bring. Gibbs was much more of a motivator with a touch of disciplinarian. Shanahan isn't going to fool around and if you can't get along, I imagine there will be a bus headed out of town with your name on it.

Umm, what chemistry? Rogers getting whiffed on? Landry out of position? I know it's the back field but what news do you have that speaks of Porter being someone similar to a T.O.? Honestly I'm kinda glad we are looking at players for their talent for a change vs. being the moral majority or character police, but I'm interested in how Porter is a locker room cancer since you brought it up?

He could be doing like several other players have.. coming here, milking a tad more out of a previous offer.

I think Porter is trying to use the Redskins to get more money out of Arizona, which is where he would rather go

Deja vu.

I think you're right. Here's some support for your theory:

Joey Porter

The Redskins will host free agent Joey Porter on Thursday.

Porter's preference is to return home to the west coast, but he needs another team interested so the Cardinals aren't bidding against themselves. The Redskins are moving to a 3-4 defense, so Porter fits from a pure scheme standpoint.

Lots of options, though I'd imagine we're not trading Jarmon

In other news, Dolphins sign Richie Incognito and Bills sign Dwan Edwards
