Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins at Cowboys)

Hey Redskins fans lets stop crying, 1 loss 1 game this season. Damn yes it sucks that we let this game get away from us. But thats why you have to play 4 full quaters of football. On the road you cannot let the team hang around. Our defense played a very good game but did give up a few big runs to Felix Jones. I did not like the 3rd and 21 call but I could not understand why Kerrigan stop rushing Romo and dropped back into coverage. WTF was he thinking at that point. Our O-Line did have problems blocking Ware and Jamal Brown got abused a few times. Next years draft RT, and Guard. The Dallas game is over lets get focused on the Rams who have beaten us the last 2 games we have played them. Rex Grossman's numbers were just as good or bad as Romo's numbers after the game. So stop crying about Rex he not a All-Pro but he can get the job done with a team effort. Special teams have to step it up, no more botched FG's.

Kerrigan had to back off to make sure the TE or RB he ran did not slip into the flat and get a HUGE gain a la Derrick Ward 2008.

Skip to 1:30 of the video.

on the video of 3rd and 21, looks like Fletcher went after the RB for a second, and then full speed towards Romo. I didn't realize Romo was 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage, but if Fletcher had gone straight he would have rushed the throw a bit. Just to be clear I'm not knocking Fletcher, overall it was a good play by dallas...

kerrigan said they thought they were going to try a screen pass so right after he initially rushed he dropped back . . . he gave a pretty good breakdown of what he was thinking on the play in his postgame interview.

sirclinton - its "fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

Idk about being lucky then good but I do agree that good teams will catch breaks at times.
