Thank you Canuck...

Gotta cut Hall now then. No way is he worth $6M. Never could tackle ("That's why my brother cut your ass"-R.Ryan) and could barely cover last year (certainly not Dez Bryant).

In the past teams could cut one player right now and designate him as June 1 cut but get the savings you mentioned right now? Is that correct?

I wonder what's going on with talks with London Fletcher.

hall could make a good ball hawking free safety i believe. he has great ball skills and hands, his man to man coverage is what stinks. lavar and dukes tossed the idea around. we definitely need help at safety, and we could bring in corner help in FA

What a disaster that would be! We'd have to pracice saying "Ole'!" so we'll be ready to watch him step aside to let offensive players go by him and score. He doesn't want to tackle anybody. I say cut his worthless ass and save $6M.

When free agency begins, big-name players will fly off the market, but you should also expect some lesser-known guys to go quickly -- and become very wealthy in their own right. For example, wide receiver Josh Morgan is a hot name right now. He is hot because he will cost less than some of the more recognizable wideouts, like Vincent Jackson and Marques Colston, yet might play as well. Morgan has the potential to become a star if he goes to the right team and can stay healthy. He only started five games last year for the San Francisco 49ers before a broken leg put him on injured reserve for the rest of the season. Yet his talent is undeniable and teams will pay well for his services. He will be off the market before Sunday.

Dwights the real deal. Don't think we have interest in him..

I heard we have interest in Jim Leonard.

a point someone made earlier is still sticking with me.

Marques Colston signed a smaller deal to stay in New Orleans, and was considered the best or second best WR on the market. Pierre was the third best and got a bigger offer. Thats either bad negotiating by us or Marques knows he's not that good without brees. somethings off here..

a) not everyone considered Garcon as third best
b) Colston took the "home-town" discount. Garcon preferred market competition and uprooting his family
c) although Garcon got more, the two deals are pretty similar

Also skins had to beat Indys offer. Colston had no other offer to beat.

Well because the Saints didn't let Colston hit the open market. In an open market, he would get more

Yep, once a player hits the open market, it becomes an auction for the player and teams will put in bids. The only difference from a typical auction in this case is that the player can choose which bid to accept.

Per Adam Schefter on twitter

Vincent Jackson deal in Tampa: 5 yrs, $55.55 million, including $26 million guaranteed, $36 million in 1st 3 yrs, $26 million in 1st 2 yrs

For those wondering what it would have cost to get V-Jax
