It's pretty clear at this point that we're destined to run the tables, securing Shanny's 12-15 year contract extension.

IMO over the last 3 weeks we will perform as we did against the Chiefs, with a mess on the field reflecting a mess in the front office. It doesn't matter who the QB is for this year in terms of W-L.

I still wish we could get the reps for RGIII, though. What a clusterfudge this situation is.

1) Why risk getting him hurt and missing out on the entire offseason program. This is even more important if Shanahan is fired and we have a new coaching staff. In fact, i wouldnt be surprised if it was SNYDER behind benching RGIII for this reason.

2) If Snyder and whoever our coach is next year believe RGIII is our franchise QB and will stick with him no matter what, then why NOT put more film out there on Kirk Cousins? If he performs well, it increases the trade market for him. Thats good for the team

3) Lets say it turns out Cousins is clearly far inferior to RGIII (i dont think he is). If Cousins plays poorly, it kills any QB controversy going in the off-season.

4) If, as i believe, Shanahan (and the players on the team) dont like RGIII and feel the franchise is better with Cousins, this is the chance to prove it. Its a losing season. WHy not? What if we go 3-0 over these final three games and Cousins is noticeably and dramatically better in this system than RGIII. Then Shanahan will have shown Snyder he was right. We keep Shanahan, keep Cousins, and trade RGIII.

The only downside to playing cousins is hurting RGIIIs feelings. To be honest, i dont care. Thus far, RGIII has proven himself to be a diva and a whiny baby who feels entitled to respect and special treatment he hasnt earned. If he cant deal with this situation, then he doesnt have the mental makeup to succeed as an NFL QB.

Beautiful!! I could not have said it better myself!!

A poll on ES has 60% of the users favor this move by Shanny. /facepalm

I bet these are the same kids that wanted to sit RGIII for a year for him to fully heal. Also probably the same kids that think his performance is because of health related issues.

I really don't get it. What exactly are you going to protect him from? A injury? He could get in a car wreck next week and still put out of the season for next year. He could tear a ACL in practice or a pre-season game. You guys are hilarious in a sad sort of way that you feel the need to use kid gloves with your star QB. This guy needs experience at the NFL level, and he sure as hell isn't going to get that playing Madden, watching film, NOR being in-active on game day.

Sadly I feel we will all be wishing RG3 was playing by half time. Of course now that he isn't playing Shanny might run the ball this week and keep Matt Ryan from torching our D.

Those are the TEbow commentors who see RG3 with envy.

So is Jordan Reed shut down for the rest of the year too? I came into this year hoping to see Reed get on the field with Fred Davis, but then Reed emerged and Davis got in Shanny's dog house.

Doesn't matter but I did not see it mentioned...Royster on IR now and we promoted Jawan Jamison to the 53.

Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday

I hope this stokes the fires in RG3 to have a great offseason. I also admit curiosity in what Cousins can do given an extended period getting all the reps. He was very impressive last time he got that chance in his lone start (against Cleveland last year).

There are some that think the mere removal of Shanny will mean brighter days. It brings up the saying "Who is worse? the devil you know or the devil you don't."

I'm not fan of the media but this really is a big deal. It's unprecedented for a team to deactivate a starting player, no less their franchise QB, for the sake of 'protecting him'. It's nothing less than a spectacle. This season can't end soon enough. This may be the first Redskin game since the Pettibon year that I may voluntarily miss a game. Truth be told I was planning to go to Atlanta for the game but now I am SO glad I didn't go.
